"In theater" is a military term that refers to a wartime theater of operations. ICE and CBP agents are in Minnesota, which is one of the United States. The enemy in this military operation are citizens of Minnesotans and the United States.
Q: Can you be specific about how many ICE and CBP agents are currently operating in the state?

HOMAN: 3,000. There's been some rotations. They've been in theater a long time. Day after day, can't eat in restaurants, people spin on you, blowing whistles at you. But my main focus now is draw down

An entire community of thousands, here legally, having been demonized with deranged lies about eating pets, is about to be arbitrarily DECLARED illegal so they can be forcibly ethnically cleansed. I don’t want to hear one more fucking word about comparisons to Nazi Germany being overwrought.

I know these people exist, it’s shoved in my face every single day, but how the fuck do you treat little kids like this and look yourself in the mirror

everything in me recoils at the thought, what the fuck is wrong with these people

You are all ABSOLUTELY entitled to your correct opinion that Chuck Schumer's messaging sucks.

But don't waste your time whining while he bought you two weeks. Bc this is legislative success.
🚨 The Senate has agreed to a deal to vote on 5/6 full appropriations bills and replace the DHS funding measure with a 2-week stopgap bill, per multiple sources. That gives time to negotiate on the Dem demands for ICE and CBP restraints.

One of the hardest things to explain to people who aren’t here is the very real feeling that we are in a war against the federal government. Not only are we occupied by unaccountable armed, masked paramilitaries, but we are constantly aware our neighbors might be abducted in the blink of an eye.
Was he actually approaching Minnesota as a regime change

In fact, I think it WOULD be useful to get a statement in there making clear that the federal government cannot commandeer state/local cops for enforcement operations. That the admin is not entitled to that. That noncooperation is not obstruction. It’s a constitutional right.

ICE kidnapped a permanent resident in Minnesota today. They let the individual go after realizing they had authorization. Don’t be fooled, ICE is still discriminating against our neighbors based on the color of their skin. 1/

I was just saying to Portia that it is a 4th amendment violation. It's driving me nuts that no one is really talking about how unconstitutional it is to be bashing through people's cars and pulling them out through the window
Can we talk legalities for a minute?

Isn’t breaking a car window the same thing as battering down a door?

It’s illegal, right? I feel like I’m going insane because none of the news sources mention this.

INBOX: It appears ~300 Catholic leaders — including a number of bishops, although interestingly this is *not* a letter from the USCCB — have signed a letter urging senators not approve ICE/DHS funding in the appropriations bill.

Below are *some* (but not all) of the signers.

Also, for every story that breaks through to nationwide discussion, there are dozens of not hundreds of civil rights violations and threats to our sense of security and normalcy. Patrolling schools to protect kids from the feds is not normal. We have no timeline. How can we pace ourselves?

they do it all the time. Observers root through the detritus left after a violent arrest occurs to try to find some information about the owner. They try to pull the car somewhere safe and call family, or call one of the many towing companies who donate their labor for this.
ICE's decision to just leave cars abandoned in the roads is one of those dystopian things that makes you recoil in shock when you encounter it.
A legal asylum-seeker who works at Chipotle and plays music at a church in Maine went missing. His pastor searched and searched, eventually finding his abandoned car with the keys on the floor.

ICE grabbed him. No criminal record. No explanation.

And honestly if there is one lesson you should take from the occupation of Minnesota is that the sooner you meet with your neighbors the better. Help them regardless of whether ICE ever shows up.
Listen up. NOBODY is stopping you from getting together your neighbors today and meeting the needs of your neighbors.
I keep seeing posts going "when ICE comes to MY city, we'll be out in the streets even harder" and man, I get that sentiment but I need everyone to understand that the work in Minneapolis is partly confrontational but MORE IMPORTANTLY aaallll the stuff organized in the background to help neighbors

Two of the three murders in Minneapolis this month were by ICE agents, so if we're talking about taking steps to make the streets safer, sure, get them the hell out of there.

Invite them to Louisiana where things are really out of hand. I wonder what kind of failed leader is in charge there?
