I’ve seen posters promoting Patient Safety Week around my hospital and I just…I mean we aren’t even wearing surgical masks. So like what are we doing here.
lol it’s once again Canadian Patient Safety Week and yet hospitals and healthcare facilities and leadership across Canada all pretend that COVID is not predominantly airborne, which causes vast harm to patients because effective protections are not in place.

more context: it’s not true that you can’t get a vaccine next year unless you sign up asap. It is true that the gov’t is incompetent and doesn’t know how to run a website (or a health care system)

Survivorship bias is real. People have thoroughly memory-holed COVID, even those who suffered multiple infections or lengthy post-COVID symptoms.

"I'm done with COVID," patients tell me when I suggest they update their vaccine - including those who get an annual flu shot and are at very high risk.
there’s a thread on reddit right now called “was COVID really that bad?” and it is interesting to read people’s accounts five years out

there seems to be a collective trauma response where people (outside of healthcare workers) don’t remember how many people died

someone called it anticlimactic

Justice Wyant’s report on #CorruptCare states on Page 3 that “unlike a public inquiry, this investigation did not have power to subpoena or hear testimony under oath. As a result, people had the opportunity to decline to be interviewed. Some did.”

We need a full public inquiry now.

🚨 This is inexplicable news to share. If in Alberta and you want flu and covid shots for NEXT year (2026-2027), you have only until December 15 of THIS year to order them.

This is not incompetence. It’s a deliberate choice to prevent as many people ..

Also if you’re in Alberta and your kids are at home because teachers are on strike, please know that we aren’t doing this to punish your kids.

The UCP is punishing kids by not addressing any of the issues that we have repeatedly asked them to address.

Dear Alberta and Danielle Smith,

No one wants a new pipeline but YOU. Canada had to bail out the last one you attempted to use and you still don't use it to its full potential.
All you want is Canada to say NO, play victim and push your separation plans as Canada is holding you back.

Fuck Off.

The AB teachers rally in Calgary today, at McDougall Centre

I tried to get pics up close but it was way too packed to get a good spot. Biggest rally at McDougall I've ever seen.

🎯 I don't blame people who don't know better. I blame those whose job it is to know better.

In a rush to "return to normal", Public Health hasn't only capitulated to short-term political expediency, it has imperiled the very prosperity it was told to protect at all costs. #LongCOVID

And if your view is that Covid is a flu, or a cold, and not something that is literally ruining kids and robbing their future, you are wrong.

And no I won't prove you wrong, reality and the consequences of your refusal to listen will.

Your "view" doesn't matter if you have your eyes closed.

Your view of a topic does not dictate reality. You can have a view and be totally wrong, and when your view puts people in danger, especially kids, you better damn well have something to back it up.

As teachers are only days away from a strike because the UCP refuse to address the issues of classroom sizes and complexity…

We couldn’t help but think that what they need is a hero to take the education minister over his knee…

We found that hero.

NO tax dollars for this. If there’s no business case to justify private sector investment then why should the taxpayer be on the hook for it. Again.

If anyone wants to put together a super cut of Bruce being dismissive and rude to Albertans throughout the Alberta Next panels...

We'll offer up a pretty dope swag collection as a gift of thanks.

And the thanks of a grateful province.

Cause that's a lot to sit through.

To the people who lent their credibility to this panel: are you having fun yet?

It might be time to resign while you can still salvage some of it.
At tonight’s “consultation”…

When a high school kid tried to raise concerns about the teachers strike, Bruce McAllister cut the kids mic and then suggested his parents should have beaten him more.

Listen to the clip yourself…

It’s…

Telling.
