I meet a lot of pregnant women at work.
A grand total of 0 (ZERO!) have been advised to get a COVID vaccine in pregnancy.
I would say the majority have bought into the misinformation that the vaccine is dangerous in pregnancy, which is the opposite of the truth.

I'm deeply sorry to the people of Venezuela. There is no opposition party in the United States to counter the fascist regime's actions and the population is easily demagogued.

Palestine is a test. Venezuela is a test. And everytime the world says nothing or does nothing it's permission to take similar actions again anywhere else.

Foreign affairs minister Anita Anand just released Canada’s official statement on “the situation in Venezuela”:

Does not condemn illegal American military actions, reiterates position that the kidnapped president was illegitimate, calls on “all parties to respect international law,” etc
Please see my statement on the situation in Venezuela:

It’s 11 AM. Do you know where your prime minister is?
Now past 10 AM, still no statement from the Prime Minister’s Office
8:30 AM, and still no statement from Canada’s prime minister

Perhaps the Governor General should knock on the door of Rideau Cottage to make sure he too was not kidnapped by the US military overnight?

Public Health had one job.

Take away the keys.
Many don't realize that the most vulnerable or immune compromised depend on the rest getting vaccinated properly to keep diseases from spreading out of control. It's not just “my body, my choice” when it comes to saving lives.

I have never had so many people decline a vaccination as happened this past week. Feels like medicine is changing.

"Sure, you recommend I get those shots, but I've done a lot of research and the downsides outweigh any benefits"

It really gets to you 🤦

This feels so strange to say but I did not know that alcohol is a known carcinogen until a few years ago. Or maybe I just didn’t want to hear it because I loved partying so much in my 20’s and early 30’s 😬

Every year for nearly 6 years, I've wondered if this would be the year that I could finally give #LongCOVID the slip.

And every year I've had to be grateful instead, for very small, incremental gains -

This piece by @melodyschreiber.com is a must-read. Most people don't know what CDER is, but it is responsible for the regulation of all the drugs we put in our bodies. Hoeg is unqualified for CDER director. The only reason she was appointed is that she is an anti-vaxxer and a friend of Vinay Prasad.
Tracy Beth Høeg has no apparent experience with creating or regulating drugs, but she did make a name for herself casting doubt on some vaccines. Her appointment as the acting FDA drugs chief signifies a greater focus from Trump's FDA on (ending) vaccines. From me www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

In 2026, I'll still be #oneofthetwo because I rely on my health to work & I think everyone should be able to access public spaces as safely as possible.

I'm one of the three when I'm with my family & one of the seven with extended family. There are many people taking infection control seriously.

We all have a right to a safe working environment, our kids have a right to safe schools, our elderly relatives have a right to safe healthcare. Our government thinks our rights don't matter. Masking is a brave act of resistance.

The medical associations need to decide whether they are about protecting members and patients, or about shielding a few well-connected public health and infection control docs from accountability for negligence.

History says odds are it's door #2.
