72 million people in America rely on Medicaid, and over 3.4 million of them live in Illinois.

When Trump said he wouldn’t touch Medicaid, he was lying to 72 million people across the country who need this critical service to live their everyday lives.
‘Having Medicaid keeps me alive’: Illinois residents anxiously watch as Congress considers Medicaid cuts
Across Illinois, 3.4 million people are on Medicaid — about one-fourth of the state’s population.

Ending Medicaid to build concentration camps
This isn’t just a bill.

It’s a fundamental restructuring of American society in which the poor are abandoned, and “immigration jails” outrank healthcare.

Billions taken from one and given to the other.
Judd Legum explains 7 of the things in Trump's megabill:
1. Cuts $930B from Medicaid
2. 16M lose health ins
3. Slashes food asst for poor families by $186B
4. Lower incomes for bottom 40% of families
5. Increases deficit by $3.3T
6. $45B for new immigration jails
7. Billions for defense contractors

The left better start figuring out how to weaponize today's decision rather than just (rightfully) criticizing it.

- Go back into Judge Kaczmaryk's court to dissolve all of his nationwide orders.

- Pass gun bans and insist any order applies only to plaintiffs.

Incredible evidence for the Great Idiot theory of history though: leaders are just guys and more often than you'd think they're awful vain impulsive guys craving immediate feedback and with a weak understanding of reality, compounded by how their actions warp reality.

Shutting down Indian Point was a big pet project of RFK Jr. and his allies
Things are looking pretty bad for the New York City grid next week.

There is a nonzero chance of rolling brownouts on Election Day.

And remember: CUOMO DID THIS. He shut down Indian Point nuclear plant, which provided 2 gigawatts of clean power to the city.

Don’t rank Cuomo.

one thing I keep thinking about is how the upshot of a lot of technological advancements - digital cinema, non-linear editing, computer VFX replacing models and stunts etc etc - hasn't been to improve quality or even to save money, but to enable indiscipline and laziness.
“Have a finished shooting script before you start” is something that fixes a number of problems from the beginning, from effects work to budgeting. It’s genuinely insane that it’s something that has to be brought back into fashion

That's when I realized why Dems are toothless. They have no idea what this is. Frogs boiling in water.

My law firm is currently litigating 55 voting and election cases in 24 states. Two points:

This is a very large caseload for this point in the election cycle.

It is more evenly spread across states than usual which reflects the creep of voter suppression laws into even safe GOP states.
