As far as I can tell, the first person to ever accuse him of human trafficking is Leavitt herself (I'd love to know if someone else made the claim first).

Certainly, no official has ever made that claim to a court, nor offered any evidence of it whatsoever. It seems the White House made it up.
Leavitt: "Abrego Garcia was a foreign terrorist. He is an MS-13 gang member. He was engaged in human trafficking." (The White House hasn't provided evidence for any of these claims ... )

Here is the — entirely accurate — headline: Republican leadership just CANCELLED ALL VOTES FOR THE WEEK rather than allow a vote on a *Republican* member’s effort to allow proxy voting for new parents.
Republicans just cancelled votes in the House for the rest of the week after Democrats and a handful of Republicans took down the rule (a procedural vehicle to bring legislation to the floor).

GOPers have a remedy that they alone can use any day to right the ship of state and, not incidentally, massively enlarge their own individual power(s): impeach him.
The whole point of deporting someone with a soccer tattoo that's relabeled a "gang" tattoo is for Trump to assert the power to simply say someone is a gang member or terrorist *without* presenting evidence of it.

On the pod, @lizdye.bsky.social is terrific on this:
