I am guessing that Trump's Gaza peace plan is a failure due the fact that I keep seeing reports of ceasefire violations, and a spike in the number of apparently Palestinian accounts cold @'ing me begging for money because the humanitarian conditions are bad and getting worse.

I've joined the Greens.

Labour have completely lost me, I am sick of climate wrecking policies, the doubling down on Brexit, the attacks on the elderly, disabled, transgender people and immigrants. Every small victory we do get feels like its 1 step forward, 10 steps back. #NeverLabourAgain
Drilling for oil and gas, taxing electric vehicles, no taxes on bitcoin purchases, billions on nuclear, pennies on genuine green initiatives like a battery in every home. What a dreadful budget. What a narrow mindset

The so-called peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia will fail. It is inevitable. Putin‘s objective - the destruction of Ukraine (and the USA) - will never stop for as long he draws breath. He crossed the point of no return a long time ago.

I suspect that the reason for Russia trying to get America to ram thru their dirty peace plan is that Ukraine is now able to commit drone strikes against targets that are over 1,000 km from the border.

That puts *Moscow* within striking distance, and maybe that spooked the Russians...
Ukrainian drones struck the capital of the Chuvash republic of Cheboksary in Russia, which is around 1,000 km from the Ukrainian border. Target was VNIIR-Progress factory. Explosion from the factory area can be seen from multiple angles.

There's something off about these Gaza/Palestinian accounts that appear, ask for money and then disappear.

As much as I am sympathetic to the plight of the Palestinian people, I don't like giving money to random people, I don't know if they are a real person in need of aid or a spammer/bot.

Scrapping the two-child limit *is* welfare reform. Defining ‘reform’ solely as ‘cut’ is one reason why it’s proved so difficult
November 24, 2025 at 11:51 AM
The thing I don't get is why Reform are consistently polling nationally at 30% when...
• Their leader is lazy and never does any constituency work.
• One of their former MPs is serving 10+ years in prison for being a Russian asset.
• Their track record in local government is absolutely atrocious.
The black hole in Durham County Council’s budget has grown by £11.1mn in the past two months under the control of Reform UK.

Its cabinet has been forced to approve a £10mn list of cuts.

Before I go through them though I don't want this to put people off of filling it in. It is important to do so nonetheless. 1/
Government has today published its consultation into "earned settlement", the forward alone contains a hot mess of misrepresentation of the current system by the Home Secretary. I would strongly urge anyone affected by the current system to respond.

What exactly happened to Starmer's conference line about fighting racism with everything they have. That is incompatible with this government's stated policies of pandering to racism and giving in to it. All Labour are doing right now is emboldening racism rather than countering it.
The Home Secretary explaining that the rise in racist violence is, actually, the natural response to higher levels of immigration is a state of affairs that can't exist without the government having largely decided that racist violence is, if not legitimate, at least understandable.

Single bus fares in the West Midlands increased by 50% in six months because Labour didn't continue Sunak's £2 fare cap.

As for rail fares, something like 2% is profit, the rest is on the government. I would have expected a minimum 2% fare cut if privatisation was the cause of the high fares.
Very good policy from Labour

Early signal that taking the railways into public ownership means a better deal for passengers - ripped off for too long by privatisation.

It has become apparent that the so-called peace plan was authored entirely by Russia and for some inexplicable reason the English translation was accepted verbatim by the US. Combined with it being condemned by most of Europe, Canada and Japan, I can see it disappearing into a Ukrainian shredder.
My understanding is that Ukraine won't accept any deal that puts restraints on their military and gives up the territories that Russia stole. Trump's so-called plan is dead on arrival because Ukraine will reject it.
🚨🚨This is no "peace" plan, it is a recipe for further suffering and #Russian imperialist expansion in the #west. It is difficult to appreciate just how much damage the #trump administration has done to #Ukraine and its war efforts. It is disgusting beyond words. 🧵 www.theguardian.com/world/2025/n...

This is a good example of how a flag *should* be displayed on a lamppost. Properly attached so its not a danger to the public and its intent is clear; in this example it's a council formation anniversary.
Meanwhile, the London Borough of Harrow has recently decided that this is a suitable way of celebrating its 60th anniversary....
