Does anyone know of a place to rent in Amsterdam for my friend and world-leading countertenor Iestyn Davies for two months? No dates yet at this point. youtu.be/fCSQd8Nx4mI?...

I’m an immigrant. Nigel Farage could not do my job at any time of day, not least after the pubs open.
Jeez. Just listen to this from Nigel Farage. As a country we are so much better than this.

Remember immigration has benefited the UK by filling critical skill & labour shortages - in fact without immigrants our public services - particularly health & social care would not be able to function

So sad. The job market needs this flexibility of experts who are only required temporarily on specific projects.

It is hideous. So is the Barbican. Farage will knock both dow, rebuild them in marble and name them after himself. Mark my words.
On BBC Front Row tonight @tds153.bsky.social and guests are discussing loving Brutalism, as London's South Bank Centre finally gets Grade II heritage listing. Some of us have always felt the love..of course ❤️. 715pm R4 or link after: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...

It’s been one hell of a day in our part of France. So many trees down. Hundreds of thousands with power for hours. So much damage. So many roads closed. At least our power is back on again, a major achievement for the teams out there in heavy rain. 🇫🇷 #StormNils

Three people who worked on the 1939 Wizard of Oz are still alive: Caren Marsh Doll was Judy Garland’s stand-in who walked the yellow brick road countless times while cameras and lighting were being set up. She’s 106. Priscilla Montgomery Clark (96) and Valerie Lee (95) played Munchkins as a child. 🎥

"I'm proud to represent Team USA. But we'd be remiss if we didn't mention what's going on in Minnesota and what a tough time it's been. What's happening is wrong. There's no shades of gray."

Obviously major Whitehall news if it happens

Perhaps not surprising given briefing. And if the PM loses confidence in a cabinet secretary then it’s pretty inevitable they go

But an impartial civil service cab sec exiting as fallout from a government scandal/attempted reset is very much not great

I think this is super interesting, matches all the qualitative interviews I've had with developers on this, and continues to show that we cannot evaluate the impact of tools on people with a metric of "production" alone. Psychological factors are always central!
