Great that there is a Labour lobbying group in favour of more homes. Not so great that it feels it has to take donations from developers

It's weird how all of the BBC 'analysis' of Trump's apparent agreement to release the Epstein files is reported through a political lens ("he's worried that it's distracting from his agenda")

No he fkn isn't

He's worried about how to remove his name from the Epstein documents

That's it

I won't vote for Labour to "stop Reform" as McSweeney and co appear to believe.

Why would I vote for Labour, just to end up with Reform's worst policies?

Suspect Labour are in for a huge shock in 2029 when they find themselves vying with the LibDems to be the official opposition.

It worked in 24 so it will work again. Labours marginals are different. Socially liberal voters will vote for us to stop Reform. Used by Labour to justify Reform like policies, but these arguments are just wrong.

We have 500 op-eds about how Democrats should somehow ensure no one in the country with lefty vibes ever says anything that's not strictly on message. It could alienate voters!

Meanwhile, the President of the United States, God-Emperor of the GOP, just said "quiet, Piggy" to a reporter on camera.

The government is unable to give any statistical basis or evidence base for this "destination of choice" claim, beyond making the (different) claim that claims are going up in the UK and failing in the UK [while being higher in Germany, France, Spain and Italy]

The "loophole" is that once somebody who was recognised as a refugee had a child born here then, ten years later, once that child was a citizen, we would not deport the parent (after their legal status had been renewed 3-4 times over say 12 years here)

Before we hear all the whining, I'm happy to say that I simply do not care if there are a handful of people who have *suffered* from seeing their house value soar to £2m, but *wipes tear from my eye* don't have a large income to match their asset wealth.

You'll work it out.

There are no political heroes here, & certainly not on the Republican side.

It's great that Congress approved the Epstein bill, but this could & should have been done a decade ago.

Now let's see how Trump tries to wriggle out of it, because there is no way everything will be released.

The tipping point is coming.

If his henchmen and women manage it just right, they will incite just enough anger and violence at the loss of voting rights in next year's midterms that Trump will be able to declare a state of emergency.

Then all rules are off.

#r4today
Donald Trump is already laying the groundwork to throw the 2026 midterms into chaos. His success could have dire consequences for American democracy, @dgraham.bsky.social argues.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

Coverage of the refugee proposals demonstrates why we have such a broken political system. Endless focus on left-wing anger and right-wing support. Basically nothing on whether the reforms will work. They will not, which is why we'll still be here having the same debate in three years.
