I pay for Claude (or at least my employer does), but ask it to generate an image of Donald Trump eating a bucket of KFC on a golden toilet, and it just won't play ball.

Total waste of money if you ask me.

Gotta love John Cooper Clarke, but you can tell Americans have no idea who the man is just by trying to find a gif of the greatest living Northern poet.

What if history really is a guide, and the only way to defeat fascism for, say, 80 years or so, is to have a massive war, where millions die, and from which it takes decades to recover?

I mean, living in London, I'd be dead in the first wave, which would probably be a small mercy.

Musk's racism, & support for the Great Replacement BS,
have been clear & obvious to anyone paying attn for a long time (e.g. the legal cases against him/Tesla dating back years).

The key thing here is how the allegations of Nazism clearly rile him.

We should focus on the truth of that.

Elon Musk is talking about Nigel Farage's Reform Party: he says Reform are trying to eradicate white people in Britain.

He is a radicalised + increasingly racist lunatic - obsessed with theories of white racial extinction + promoting the idea of civil war in Britain

It is incredible to me that so many politicians are paid large fees for their memoirs, out of all proportion to the likely book sales that would ever be generated, & so few people point out this is nothing more than the corrupt pay off for previous political favours.

All in plain sight.

#r4today
I wonder how often politicians have fought to lose. Also pertinent is Cameron’s decision to call the EU referendum, the desultory campaign he ran, the little song he sang to himself as he resigned and the £1m he pocketed from Murdoch immediately after for the memoirs…

DOJ released millions of documents relating to Epstein’s activities, incl flight logs, emails, photographs, financial records, & other material. These files reference a range of prominent figures.

None of them are Hillary Clinton.

The Canary truly is the Daily Express of leftist media.

Epstein founded his firm in the 1980s, but:

It had hardly any known employees.

Filed limited regulatory disclosures.

It had no visible investment track record.

There’s no public, independently verified record showing he made money for clients like Wexner.

No wrongdoing?

Yeah, right.

Another Brexit white elephant.

£111 million on this, and £100 billion on that, and pretty soon you're talking about real money.

Amazed and appalled to watch Blair still defending the illegal Iraq invasion with messianic zeal.

More of us should have listened to Claire Short's and Robin Cook's critique at the time.

Imagine how many 100,000s of innocent Iraqi lives could have been saved.

I spent my childhood inside of American concentration camps. I know one when I see one. And that is what ICE is building.

Oh yes, it's terrible for the economy as a whole because of the multiplier effect of employees not buying stuff, but great if you own the business, and can salt your millions away in a tax haven or by buying another piece of fine art.
It will also reduce cash flow because people will have less cash to spend. It is an all round loser.
February 18, 2026 at 9:51 AM
It won't. Businesses will just have cheaper labour costs for the same productivity, and as a result be able to pay even bigger dividends to shareholders, and higher bonuses to the CEO and senior managers.

That's how it has worked for 40 years or more.

I don't understand how cutting the minimum wage is going to increase jobs available. All I see is opportunity for exploitation.

I know Luke Johnson. He was on the board of a company that employed me in a senior position.

I have no hesitation in saying he is a complete and utter areshole, a terrible employer and an even worse person.

These statements are an electoral calculation about "white working class men".

It's a dog whistle. We don't need to waste our time stating the obvious.

Enjoy something approaching fair and reasonable pay while you can people because if Reform and/or the Tories form the next govt there will be no increases to the minimum wage for at least five years, and that's assuming they don't just abolish it.

The thing is, registered Republicans are already enablers and collaborators.

The fact that they anonymously say they have no opinion on whether the moon is made of cheese is moral cowardice, but they've already shown us who they are, and most would do it again.

We have to deal with that.

#r4today
For months I've banged the drum that "not sure" has become the safe harbor answer for "Republicans who know Trump's probably wrong, but don't want to admit it."

Today's Economist/YouGov Poll: Is Donald Trump racist?
41% of Republicans have No Opinion.

In 1996, my employer raised one billion dollars for the Milosevic regime in Serbia.

That money definitely helped Milosevic to wage genocidal war in Kosovo.

Also, MI6 asked one of our directors, an ex guardsman, to try to tap Mrs Milosevic's mobile phone.

True story.

Remember Blair coming to power, & the blizzard of seemingly endless policies that all looked like they were great ways of addressing longstanding problems.

Even the simple stuff like banning tobacco advertising in sports.

They were good, optimistic, times for a while.
