All while pretending it’s about ‘government experience’ rather than ideology. We have an entire intellectual elite that is allergic to clearly stating what they think and providing evidence.
I don't think I've ever felt more like burning it all down than I have while witnessing the elite project to turn Zohran Mamdani and Brad Lander into scary, incompetent monsters while turning an actual incompetent monster, Andrew Cuomo, into a merely complicated fellow who just made an oopsie.

This feels quite hollow when the court also decided they didn't need to hear from a single transgender person over the course of their case.
Lord Hodge adds that the Equality Act gives transgender people other, separate protections under the law. He says the judgement should not be read as a triumph for one group in society over another.

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

We'll keep fighting his agenda in the courts, in Congress, and in our communities.

If Republicans knew the history of their own party's name, they would know that most of the people who have ever identified as any form of "Republican" across the centuries would find this deeply offensive
And doubling down on it

This. Over and over again. Lift up the people doing the work. Look for the helpers.
its a great day to cheer on the reporters in congress who will run around all day asking lawmakers about this pause.

this is their moment and, talking to some of them privately, i’m expecting journalists to rise to the occassion today.

some might not, but we should reward the ones who do.

We have been in this bizarre spiral my entire life:
1. Democrats ignore right-wing radicalization to focus on economic issues.
2. Right-wing media accuses Democrats of being out-of-touch leftist elites.
3. Centrist media repeats right-wing framing.
4. Democrats double down on economic issues.

Opinion | As a seasoned Republican senator, I know that Hegseth, Gabbard, and Patel are historically awful nominees. But if I don’t vote for them, I’ll be primaried by someone who’d stand back and let Trump destroy our government.

One of the hardest classes I took in college was Sociology of Immigration, because we had to look up all these diagrams and all the required forms, and remember what they were. It felt impossible.

And that was kind of the point.

When the commentators start talking about us as political chits, a stat to remember:

“The Trevor Project, which provides support for LGBTQ+ youth considering death by suicide, saw a 700 percent increase in calls, texts, and chats after the November election.”
Transgender youth endangered as anti-trans defense budget is signed into law by Biden
The newly signed bill bars the military's insurance from covering gender-affirming care for minors.

You can't watch this and tell me that she's just a politician

You can't tell me she isn't fully conscious of the weight of the decisions she makes as a trailblazer for our community

She's the person we need in Congress in this moment, and for years to come, and I am so very proud of her
