Anybody gonna stop Trump and his fascist takeover of the world? Anybody?
TAPPER: Can you rule out the US is going to take Greenland by force?

MILLER: Greenland should be part of the US. By what right does Denmark assert control over Greenland? The US is the power of NATO

T: So force is on the table?

M: Nobody is gonna fight the US militarily over future of Greenland

Everyone who told us not to worry, because Venezuela wasn’t a precursor to invading Greenland, can sit down and shut up right now

“When’s the next nationwide protest?” You might be asking yourself.

Here’s a big one that’s happening in less than a month!

Jan 20th. Free America Walkout. Women’s March, 50501, & More. Be There.

It came out perfect. I hope to write the post tomorrow and get it up by mid-week.

Recipe testing for my Substack. I’m not making any predictions because it’s not baked yet but if the dough is any indication then you won’t want to miss this recipe, especially if you love baking.

REMINDER: War Crimes committed on soil of a signature nation to the International Criminal court expose those committing crimes to the jurisdiction of the ICC--even if their own country is not a member. Venezuela is a member of the ICC. Thus, Trump can and MUST be prosecuted at The Hague

As world leaders have become increasingly concerned about President Trump’s intentions with respect to Greenland, heads of government — such as the Prime Minister of Estonia — are expressing their solidarity with Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark.

I don’t know about you, but to me Donald Trump just committed a coup d’état…. Can’t do it in your own country? Do it in someone else’s!

Trump was also indicted.
No one did much about that, either.

(😉Hint to our former & hopefully future again allies?)
RUBIO: Maduro was indicted. Nobody ever did anything about it.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Hernandez was convicted by a jury

RUBIO: The pardon authority is something I'm not involved in

STEPHANOPOULOS: Do you support it?

RUBIO: I wasn't involved in those deliberations. I haven't looked at the case file.

So the crime, corruption & human rights abuses will continue (in Venezuela, just to be clear - though presumably also in the US), but the Trump administration will now be getting a cut. There's not much European leaders can do to stop this, but they shdn't act as though it's just business as usual.

Donald Trump wants to run Venezuela, and dominate the western hemisphere
Snatching Nicolás Maduro and attempting to take control of Venezuela and its oil is an extraordinary display of the new “Donroe doctrine”

Venezuela is all about oil 💰like Gaza is about a Trump Resort 💰like Ukraine is about a Trump Hotel 💰and Kushner investments 💰

Don’t be fooled: you can’t both claim this was simply the execution of an arrest warrant AND say the U.S. is now "running" Venezuela & grabbing its oil resources.

Trump just admitted this was a clear regime-change play to enrich U.S. oil companies & his billionaire buddies.
Trump and his cronies can try to dress this up, but it is an illegal act of war to replace Maduro and grab Venezuela's oil for his billionaire buddies.

Full statement below:

Am I wrong I. Thinking that what Trump did - bombing a country unprovoked and kidnapping its president is illegal and borderline war crime?

What’s to stop any other country randomly doing the same?

In the Netherlands in the 17th century, bakers announced the arrival of fresh bread by blasting on a horn. In this painter in the Worcester Art Museum, Job Adriaensz. Berckheyde portrays himself as a baker surrounded by his wares. #earlymodern

Even if you don't bake or cook I heartily endorse following Jamie and reading her Substack. Eating is one of the most basic human connections. Her writing will make you hungry for more (literally and figuratively).
It’s time to start planning your galette des rois and I’ve got the step-by-step instructions how and a choice of 3 fillings! On my Substack, of course. Plus a bit of the history of this traditional French Epiphany treat.

Got a monster problem? Saint Baudimius of Auvergne (late 4th C) worked with St Nectarius as a missionary to the Auvrgne region, which was being terrorized by a monster. Once the malefactor was dispatched, he founded the pilgrimage sanctuary of Ronzières.
