Poles tellin' it like it is
Said the phrase 'I'm over the moon!' to a Polish man and he was a little confused and asked what I meant so I explained and when I finished he just shook his head and said 'You're happy but you have no business in space.'

This observation remains undefeated
if i've learned one thing from doing union stuff while also doing other forms of organizing, it's that you're better off with people you disagree with who are nevertheless trying to do the same thing as you than with people you agree with who aren't trying to do anything

For Christ sakes just go get some cheap beers and shots with your friends at the bar!
Deliriants like Benadryl can bring on terrifying hallucinations in high doses. Some Gen Z-ers are taking at least a dozen pills at a time—and challenging others to do the same.

Crazy way to announce that Bezos is in the files
The Washington Post editorial board decided the Epstein files have “no public interest” before even seeing them. That’s a stunning position for any newsroom to take. Praising Clay Higgins as the lone ‘no’ vote, too? No wonder no one trusts legacy media. Absolutely disgusting.

Very funny that you can't even get the Agency on board with your little bloody coup. They're the illegal bloody coup factory.
On the patently unlawful boat strikes

It's hard for USGs to claim ‘mistake of law’ or ‘advice of counsel’ – when they’re firing lawyers who wouldn't sign off on the strikes.

WaPo's new revelations on firings or removals:

1) CIA General Counsel
2) NSC Legal Adviser
3) CIA Mission Center’s lawyer
🧵
White House blew past legal concerns in deadly strikes on drug boats
The Trump administration sidestepped skeptical lawyers across national security agencies as it pursued a military campaign against alleged narcotraffickers, officials say.

Love this for the cubs
Giving a two year deal to a guy who was so afflicted by roid rage he punched a wall and missed the playoffs because his brother got a hit off him
#Cubs agreed to a two-year deal with RHP Phil Maton, source confirms. @michael-cerami.bsky.social had it first.

Someone overlay Tim, I Wish You Were Born A Girl with the trump-Zohran press conference
why are they playing Of Montreal on Morning Joe

Every time I drive in the suburbs at night I feel like I'm playing Marco Polo, lol
Driving at night is super fun after 40.

And the important take away for bog-standard Dems (besides becoming utterly handsome abs charming) is that Zohran didn't get this by showing his belly and making a bunch of concessions, he did it by sticking to his guns and looking like a goddamn winner confident in his leftist principles.
Working people have been left behind in New York. In the wealthiest city in the world, one in five can't afford $2.90 for the train or bus. As I told Trump today— it’s time to put those people right back at the heart of our politics.

Gotta say, this was far closer to the truth than I anticipated
I'm hearing that Trump has removed his trademark suit and replaced it with a simple proletarian jumpsuit and has declared that every state must immediately convene a worker's soviet.

Remember: the only way to save New York City from Donald Trump’s wrath is electing Andrew Cuomo.

Not his fault, obviously, and it must be said that he's a generationally gifted abs charismatic pol but comparing the reaction to Zohran with AOC, Ilhan, Rashida and Cory is, shall we say, illuminating.

Illinois Democrats who voted for this, and their primary opponents:

Nikki Budzinski (Dylan Blaha, Emily Lux)

Bill Foster (none, unfortunately)

Brad Schneider (Morgan Coghill)

Eric Sorenson (Montez Soliz, though I hear his petitions are being challenged)

This is my main argument for Buehrle as a HoFer. I'm a big hall guy and think that there should be space for unique dudes who were perhaps not-quite S-tier but close but also made the game S-tier. No one did it like Buehrle during those years.
My Hall of Fame take is that Mark Buehrle deserves way more love. Look upon his bb-ref page and despair. He only retired 10 years ago but he might as well be from the Deadball Era. There are simply no dudes like this anymore www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/bu...

Trump's greatest political gift is a total lack of shame and the knowledge that any time the camera is on, it's a show. His strongest moments aren't when he's claiming to understand particle phsyics, it's when he breaks the fourth wall of political theater and says "ain't i a stinker."

it won't stop him from sending in the jackboots if he wakes up feeling like it's jackboot time but he does enjoy the idea of mamdani coming to dc to kiss the ring and he loves the idea of going viral telling a joke that lands

one thing about trump is he is obviously an insane powermad thief but i think he also knows that almost everything is kayfabe. he had a meeting with mamdani that he wants to come out of saying "even mamdani liked me" so he doesn't care, today, if mamdani calls him a fascist.

TRUMP: That's okay. You can just say yes. I don't mind.
