It wasn't Joe Maddon, or Theo Epstein, or even Chris Bosio who chose Kyle Hendricks to stand over the billy goat, when the time came to kill it. Sometimes, baseball chooses the heroes it wants, and what's left to the chosen is to be undaunted. #cubs #chicago #behereforit

He didn’t win the NL Rookie of the Year Award, but Cade Horton gets a full year of service time for 2025 after finishing second. Now qualifies for free agency after the 2030 season.

Brock builds; we all just manage and watch and marvel.
I'm biased, but what @brockbeauchamp.bsky.social and @matrueblood.bsky.social and a bunch of other folks have been building with now 8 team websites all connected feels special and if you're a fan I suggest getting on board!

I especially liked No. 4 on @jross17.bsky.social's list of under-the-radar free-agent RPs for #Cubs this winter. Guy they talked about at the deadline, and whom they probably ought to have gotten. northsidebaseball.com/news-rumors/...
Four Under-The-Radar Relievers Cubs Should Pursue to Rebuild Bullpen
The Cubs will once again look to rebuild and reshape their bullpen as they head into 2026. Are there a few under-the-radar candidates they can pursue for cheap?

Please remember that your Senator is neither your friend, nor your enemy. They work for you. Call them and give them clear input. And don’t be afraid to tell them you’ll be supporting their next primary challenger if they don’t show a spine. They work for you. Threaten to fire them if you have to.

If you’re passively watching Lions-Commanders: turn it off. They’re gonna interview Trump in the 3rd quarter. Hit them in the ratings book for that. Punch them in the ratings groin for it.

I called both @klobuchar.senate.gov & @smith.senate.gov to tell them that the Republicans and Trump regime can't be trusted and that Senate Democrats need to keep the government shut down until they can get real, concrete concessions, not just the 'promise' of a vote on ACA subsidies.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

This should not be scorigami. It’s a failure of reality’s aggregation ability that we just now got to 36-29. Football isn’t good entertainment.
🏈 JAX 29 - 36 HOU
FINAL
✅ That's Scorigami!! It's the 1094th unique final score in NFL history.

Call @smith.senate.gov too. Encourage her not only not to back down, but to lean on Klobuchar not to, and to work the caucus. NO SURRENDER on the ACA. (202) 224-5641

And deaf linemen
And three-foot tall defenders
JJ McCarthy would be unstoppable with 10 foot tall receivers.

And that center fielder always appears to be Ben Revere
Every throw from JJ looks like a center fielder trying to throw out a guy at home plate

See?!
JJ McCarthy is bad. He *IS* *BAD*. However, he does not appear capable of dying. He’s just gonna play game after game like this forever, throwing like absolute shit but also scoring touchdowns and winning games sometimes.
