I don't know what to say about this garbage vote to criminalize gender affirming care btw. Been trying to find the words. I hear so many friends in sadness and fear today but of what use is "I hear you"? Not much I fear. To live through this moment sucks ass (negative). We must find a way through

So I saw a comment on Reddit and had to write an essay about it

"You can be a girl if you want to" is useless if you don't know what wanting to be a girl looks like.

If lesbians make you sad, read this one

i would love to know what "risks" people are citing when they say that hrt is "unsafe" without medical supervision. do you consult your doctor when you take advil or tylenol?

it's one thing to see cis people propagate fearmongering lies and disinformation, but trans people should not be doing that!

EXCLUSIVE: A forced detransition policy had disastrous effects in one Georgia prison, according to the manager of the medical unit there.

The policy is on hold due to a court order requiring prisons to re-start hormone treatments for incarcerated people in GA.

The Founders were so concerned about bribery that the Constitution forbids it three separate times. Two emoluments clauses ban officials—unambiguously including the president—from accepting things of value, plus bribery is the only named impeachable offense besides treason.

Unprecedentedly corrupt.

When the US liberated Nazi concentration camps, many queer people stayed in prison because they were seen as having broken the law. Indeed, Paragraph 175, which criminalized gay intercourse in Weimar Germany & had been expanded to include intent by the Nazis, was not abolished by the US after WWII.

I wrote about a potential IOC ban over transgender, intersex and DSD athletes and how that ties in with the tragic death of Lia Smith here in the U.S.

Mostly, I ask is anyone going to care about those who have been hurt the entire time by this movement?

I don't know what the Senate is going to do. But if they do in fact fold in exchange for nothing, they will be living up to past performance. To expect the Senate to carry out the will of the American people is to misunderstand why it was created in the first place.

“healthcare benefits” here is being used to directly mean “being able to use the hospital”

this means they view being able to use the hospital as a revokable privilege
Vance: "If you're an American citizen & you've been to the hospital in the last few years, you've probably noticed wait times are especially large & very often somebody who's there in the ER is an illegal alien. Why do those people get healthcare benefits at hospitals paid for by American citizens?"

here's a blistering hot take: as much as we joke about "detransitioning from a haircut," cutting your hair short is a significantly more irreversible (in the short term) process than taking hormones for a month. You're not getting the hair back without time, but stopping a short HRT regimen? Easy.

The Purpose of a System is What It Does, and mainstream journalism constantly endangers trans people.

It's not irresponsibility; it's intent.
I try not to do media criticism because we all make mistakes and there but for the grace of god go I. But it was really irresponsible for mainstream outlets to run with the "trans slogans engraved on the bullet" narrative, which seemed implausible from the jump.
