This speech is over 400 years old. It is gripping even now. He could be speaking of Steven Miller, Donald Trump, JD Vance, Tom Homans. It is devastating: "This is the strangers’ case
And this your mountainish inhumanity." Share. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DceE...

Can we not? thx
Taken together—the racial homogeneity, the Cold War religious framing, the idealized citizens—the aesthetic here aligns closely with white Christian nationalism as a default civic identity. #holdfast

Poutine! 😆😆😆
Like in the years 1930’s, France is right but is too weak to act alone. We need german support face Poutine like the british support face Hitler.

Cosigned by a descendent of a Mayflower immigrant on one side of the family, and a Revolutionary War captain on the other.
All you need to know to realize “Heritage American” is racist bullshit is those who use the term don’t include Black descendants of enslaved people. (Which I say as someone whose ancestry here traces to the 1600s and includes a signer of the Declaration of Independence and a Revolutionary War hero.)
For those not following at home, “Heritage American” is a category of white supremacy covering people whose ancestors were white folks who were pioneers.

Does anyone know the exact text of the impeachment article that got Andrew Johnson impeached?

Here it is:

"Resolved, That Andrew Johnson, President of the United States, be impeached of high crimes and misdemeanors."

That's it.

Last Hanukkah, Rabbi Schlanger urged people to celebrate boldly, “to be more Jewish” in the face of antisemitism.

Our menorahs tonight will also be yahrzeit candles–with grief for this grievous loss and rededication to shine brighter than slaughter & hate.

No Kings for the record exists because of the grassroots effort to impeach Trump for tyranny.

It was an astroturfed protest by billionaires.

We are already dwarfing their organic momentum. People are talking and the voices are only getting louder.

I still can’t get over this week we wrestled some of the most corrupt leaders in the history of American politics into being forced to vote “present” on impeachment.

The evil people are losing the fight.

66% support either a single national government program or a mix of government and private programs.

The total goes up to 92% if you include support for the continuation of Medicare and Medicaid.

Only 7% said there should be no government involvement of any kind in health care coverage.
Most Americans say government has a responsibility to ensure health care coverage: https://pewrsr.ch/495emca

Also as impeachment articles were brought against Hegseth for murder.

Yeah these people are fucking terrified. Let’s get them in bracelets.
"Trump Is Already Discussing Preemptive Pardons For His Lawless Administration"

The revelation comes as Pete Hegseth faces scrutiny for a possible war crime, and as a judge pursues a contempt inquiry into the defiance of his order.

I passed these two U-Haul box containers in someone's yard and wondered what the heck was going on, and then I realized that someone had set up a pantry. #neighborhoodpantry #feedthehungry #SNAP

Until the end of the government shutdown, our campaign will be donating $2,500 a month to a food pantry in the Ninth District.

And to my fellow candidates, I challenge you to do the same:

I don't envy young people today in very many ways, but they're so fortunate that ADHD is often recognized and treated appropriately these days instead of being misdiagnosed as a series of character flaws.
In psychological terms, what is described in the post above is called “task paralysis” or “initiation paralysis.” It’s part of executive dysfunction, not “laziness,” and different from “procrastination” in that it often occurs even in contexts in which the person strongly DESIRES to do the activity.

After a good nine years of compulsively following politics Twitter, and now politics Bluesky...

My habits changed in September.

Some days I don't read any news at all.

Some days I dip into the stream of the feed briefly, then tap out after a few posts.

Part of me feels guilty about this. Why?
