Claims of occupation and governance have only existed in extraordinary cases—post-WWII Germany and Japan, after unconditional surrender and international authorization. That is not the situation Trump is describing when he says he’s “going to run the country right.” #holdfast #NicolasMaduro

As he continues to ignore the role of Congress and the Constitutional division of national security powers, Trump implies that Cuba may be the administration’s next head target in the administration’s regional strategy.
Trump openly frames military force as a commercial acquisition tool. You can’t credibly argue limited self defense, LE action, narrow authorization, or emergency necessity while simultaneously describing infrastructure takeover, profit generation, corporate involvement, and follow-on strikes.
Trump: "We're going to have our very large United States oil companies go in, spend billions of dollars, fix the badly broken infrastructure and start making money for the country. And we are ready to stage a second and much larger attack if we need to do so."
