I say this with zero irony: if you are even tangentially a part of a retro video game community, it is your civic duty to push back against this company and shun anyone who doesn't. This is fascism tapping gently at the door and as soon as you let it in, it's going to invite its friends.

I will NEVER vote for a politician who votes for anti-trans legislation. Never. I don't care who it is, it's a dead issue. Move on. If my vote is so important to the future of democracy they should have thought of that before they voted to exterminate my child.

25 years ago today, SCOTUS elected George W Bush president of the United States by blocking completion of a voting canvass in Florida. A subsequent canvass by the Associated Press showed that Bush's rival, Al Gore, had won the race in Florida—and thus the contest for the presidency—by 700 votes.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Death Is Just A Change
David Lynch has gone on to whatever the next place is. I’m very sad about it; it came at a hard time for the city of Los Angeles, a place he dearly loved, and it’s hard not to think his change of cons...

Awful news that Kaleb Horton died. A talented writer who in another time would've been getting $5 a word with an expense account. Read his skilled filleting of the Entourage movie web.archive.org/web/20150605...

It seems that Kaleb Horton has passed away. A devastating loss. One of the best writers of this generation. Kaleb was a friend for ten years and in all our conversations I was trying to convince him how good he was, something he seemed to know but also never fully believe. I am going to go cry now.

In addition to being a hell of a music and culture writer, Kaleb Horton was also very funny. I appreciate his Dilbert comics, but this is my favorite bit: Johnny Cash’s original version of “Hurt.”

im going to give all of you guys like three weeks and anybody i see mentioning ezra klein for the rest of my life after that is getting iced the fuck out i dont need to hear about this blogger anymore
“Klein’s interest here isn’t honesty but flattery. It shows Klein isn’t writing about Kirk at all. He’s writing about himself and saying, ‘I’m doing politics the right way because I’m lauding someone who disagrees with me.’”
I told myself I wouldn't do a snap reaction to Ezra Klein's noxious editorial. I said, "If you're still mad about it on Monday, then you can write about it."

I'm still mad about it!
