Become very clear that the difference at the core of Your Party is one founder saw it as a new grassroots political movement, and the other saw it more as a forever job retirement home for him and his mates where they can wear berets and call each other comrade.

Labour reneged on all their pledges. As a party, you've whipped up hatred against trans people, disabled people, poor people, and immigrants.

Your leadership glorifies racist thugs and are hiring staff from anti-LGBTQ hate groups.

You don't get to talk about false hope or polarisation.

Adrian Hussain’s statement raises clear questions for @jeremycorbyn.bsky.social, @zarahsultana.bsky.social & Your Party:

Will they unequivocally affirm trans women’s equal access to women-only safe spaces?

Do they reject Adrian's calls to segregate trans women from other women?
Your Party has got a transphobic MP before they’ve even gotten a name!

This is literally ridiculous. Extending the period to 56 days was the bare minimum and still a tight turnaround. To go back on this is a complete waste of time. Increasing the number of refugees who are made street homeless is an absolute safeguarding risk in this political climate.
Government plans to halve the ‘move on period’ for Refugees, reducing it to 28 days.

28 days to find a job, get a deposit, and find somewhere to live. Thousands of street homeless refugees by the time winter hits.

My regular reminder not to have anything to do with Stand Up To Racism/SWP - especially Greens. Please.
New Substack from me, in which I talk about working with Stand up to Racism - and what it's like to be made into a non-player character in the psychodrama of someone else's imagined script

("we are the revolutionary party and we're taking on the state"- yeah, about that...)

Working with Stand up to Racism - the good, the bad, the deeply annoying
At the start of August, I was one of the organisers of the demo outside the Thistle Barbican hotel.

This captures the crossroads for the @greenparty.org.uk:

Zack: Real change means standing with the marginalised, the minoritised, and those living precarious lives

Ellie/Adrian: Power lies with the wealthy - so let’s chase the votes of the haves, even those who push to discriminate
@zackpolanski.bsky.social : "This is a battle between the 99% & the 1%. The 99% being working class communities, small business owners, people living precarious lives, & the 1% being multi millionaires & billionaires"

Ellie Chowns: "We are not a party of protest" (Starmer said the same about Lab)

No. No more debates. You lot have shown you can’t face up to the truth even when it is set out clearly in front of you.

My point here is that MPs will tend to be swayed by the particular perspectives and concerns of their constituents; and I'm not sure that these are necessarily representative of Green Party voters as a whole.

I put in some hours in the Waveney campaign office, so I know the win was due to 100s of volunteers from all parts of the country coming to action days. This isn't scaleable without a massive ⏫ in activist numbers. I'm not seeing people saying "I'm joining to vote for Ellie & Adrian", only for Zack.

Trans rights are "the canary in the coal mine" - if we equivocate on *them*, not only are we hurting our trans (& enby) siblings, we're opening the door for attacks on other people's rights. It's already happening, which is why we have to stand firm. 1/
I keep being asked what my position on trans rights is. So thought I might as well share with you all...

I think we should actually consider the idea of “you can change your gender but not sex” as just straight up transphobia, gender essentialism and frankly, sexism
spare us from the cis allies who are always like "nobody saying that you can change your sex" and "we're talking about gender not sex, they're very different." stop it.
