my general understanding is that if Netanyahu has any domestic political credibility, it’s as a Trump whisperer, and Gaza has horrified the US so badly that not even Trump can abide by it, so a ceasefire is a worthwhile trade (to Bibi) for maintaining support. none of that really applied a year ago
