One guy tried, unsuccessfully, to blow up a plane with a bomb in his sneakers, and everybody had to take off their shoes at the airport for the next 20 years.

Chatbots have a collective body count equal to Richard "The Night Stalker" Ramirez, and they're trying to put them in schools.
30 years ago they were like we have to ban song lyrics for the children but it’s full steam ahead for the here’s how to do drugs until you die machine
“ChatGPT started coaching Sam on how to take drugs, recover from them and plan further binges. It gave him specific doses of illegal substances, and in one chat, it wrote, ‘Hell yes—let’s go full trippy mode’”

It's now unconscionable for the government to be posting on X.

X is not a neutral utility, it is far, far darker: an environment that shapes behaviour, rewards cruelty, and normalises abuse.

Keir Starmer has this morning urged Cabinet to keep its nerve amid grim opinion polling (today’s YouGov put Labour in third place behind Reform & Tories)

“Governments do not lose because polls go down. They lose when they lose belief or nerve. We will do neither,” he said

Sending love to the imprisoned Palestine Action hunger strikers in the UK, whose well-being and survival I am deeply worried about. In Let This Radicalize You, @prisonculture.bsky.social and I wrote about the escalating repression in the UK. For those who aren't aware, the situation has worsened.

How can this happen?

One element in play: the local paper makes zero mention of dividends in its coverage of the accounts. Literally none.

Even though the entire story - for years - has been fundamentally about two men making themselves filthy rich because of bad public sector governance.

The cost to the public purse is more than £550m.

I would encourage people in the UK to complain to the BBC about unquestioning platforming a person who uses transphobic slurs on trans healthcare.

If they do not get a satisfactory response, escalate the complaint to Ofcom.
