Great piece
It's now unconscionable for the government to be posting on X.

X is not a neutral utility, it is far, far darker: an environment that shapes behaviour, rewards cruelty, and normalises abuse.

Abuse thrives where the government tweets – why it's time to quit X now
The use of AI tool Grok to generate en masse intimate images of real women and girls is sickening.

When I think about it, it's actually sooo embarrassing to still be on X. Oh, you've not had enough Nazi validation today? You need to be personally attacked by random strangers to feel like you've had a notable human interaction? You simply can't consume your news without a side of CSA? Get a life!

Its pretty clear a lot of this is just a attempt to censor and intimidate women.

The more you see of the modern alt right, to more you realise weaponised chauvanism sits at the base of it.

Writing about X this morning and just made the mistake of searching my name on the app for the first time since I left and JFC I don't know how I would have mentally and emotionally survived if I were still using that platform for work

There are MANY issues with Starmer’s messaging. But I always thought this govts best and easiest bet was to become THE government of the rules and fair play. Led by a former lawyer, lean into fairness, equality, law and order, justice for workers, respect for international law.

Happy Monday everyone. I’m starting the year with a back injury AND an almost empty diary which as you’ll know is every freelancers dream combination. Wish me luck!

I also went from being like “this guy is supposed to be the heartthrob?? 🤨” to willingly watching two-minute long TikTok fan videos of him by the end of series 5
Rewatching S1 of Stranger Things and the metamorphosis of Steve Harrington is one of the stranger things in the aptly named show.

I wrote for @theleaduk.bsky.social about Labours five big tests this year: the economy, public services, the rising far-right, Britains place in the world and Starmer’s own authority.

A grand total of 10 Conservatives (one woman) and 0 Reform present for a statement on the VAWG strategy.

Clearly protecting women and girls isn’t that much of a priority for them.

Dog-whistle and factually incorrect. Ladies, raise your hand if you were sexually assaulted by a boy at school? I’d wager this or a family member is most women’s first experience of sexual violence

I’m not working today but if I were I’d be giving the govt kudos for this. Well overdue step forward for tackling misogyny and sexual coercion in schools and beyond. Can’t tell you how much I wish we had it when I was younger!
