Did you know that from 15th October to 10th November, and at other festive periods, traders without license - like supermarkets - can sell fireworks? 💥

Fireworks are dangerous explosives, they should not be marketed like toys in the same spot as the sweets and crisps.

Millionaire argues for millionaires to pay less tax in the UK. 💰

Who does he work for?

Farage is not the voice of ordinary working people.

Hundreds of civilians were reportedly massacred at a maternity hospital in Sudan yesterday.

The RSF attacks civilians and uses sexual violence as a weapon of war.

The UK must do all it can to alleviate this humanitarian disaster, and ensure no UK arms are used in this horrific civil war.

Women are 51% of the country, but are often ignored and patronised when seeking medical help. The govt must deliver a women's health strategy that addresses this - helping the economy & allowing women to get on with their lives.

Good to join the @newstatesman1913.bsky.social health conf this week.

The Renter's Rights Bill is now law - meaning from early next year, renters in Luton North will have the protections Labour promised at the election. 🏠

This govt believes everyone has the right to live in a safe home, protected from exploitation and malpractice. This new Act delivers on that.

Congrats to @lucympowell.bsky.social! You’ve got the guts and the fight in you to help us win again. 🌹

Time to unite, be bold and true to our Labour values.

We're the party that built the NHS, the minimum wage and equal pay.

Labour wins not despite our progressive values, but because of them.

As part of our #WEC inquiry into the beauty industry, we heard from experts about the difficulties in regulation.

Women are being preyed on through social media and sold dodgy, dangerous services by unqualified treatment providers.

We will do all we can to hold the tech companies to account.

Almost nobody in the Cons Party or beyond it had noticed that the Shadow Home Secretary with two other frontbenchers and 5 backbenchers tabled a bill in May to deport 3 million people - stripping almost every pensioner, parent or nurse who did not take out citizenship of their right to live here

The govt is providing a further £10m to protect mosques and faith centres.

It is welcome - but desperately sad as British Muslims have faced increasing violence and intimidation.

Islamophobia must be robustly challenged, and we need a standard definition of anti-Muslim racism.

Access to British Sign Language teaching is vital not just for children growing up with hearing loss, but also for their parents.

I’m grateful to be offered a meeting with the Schools Minister to discuss more.

Thanks also to the @bda.org.uk for supporting me with my signing!🧏🏻‍♀️

Katie Lam’s comments stink of desperation.

This crass racism used to mean she’d be kicked out of the Tories but not now.

The Conservative Party seem to be falling all over themselves to chase the tail of Tommy - two names - Robinson.

It’s becoming like the BNP in a twin set & pearls.

Wishing a very Happy Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas to all those celebrating!

As our Hindu, Sikh and Jain communities celebrate the victory of light over darkness, and good over evil, I'm grateful for all the light and goodness they contribute in Luton North 🎆

Who are the people spreading conspiracy theories every weekend in Liverpool’s most popular park?

Who is behind their movement?

Would they talk to me about their claims that climate change is a hoax and their belief in the dangers of ‘chem trails’ ?

Find out here 👇
We asked those sharing conspiracy theories in Sefton Park for a chat
From calling climate change a hoax to warning about chemtrails in the sky, the group has a range of messages on display

Some fantastic costume options! 🎃
Spooky season is nearly here so it’s time for a scary Small Business Saturday! 🎃

Don’t forget to check out the charity shops like Keech Hospice, Sue Ryder or community shops like this one in Bushmead for Halloween costumes - it’s cheaper, better for the planet 🌍 and supports great work locally.

Last year our community was devastated by the murders of Juliana Falcon and her two children Kyle and Giselle.

Yesterday I again raised the need to tighten access to private gun licences, and introduce a national database for all who have them.

We must do more to prevent these needless tragedies.

Yesterday I joined the Miscarriage Association and Co-op to mark our recent success in making miscarriage bereavement leave law, on what was also the last day of #BabyLossAwarenessWeek.

I want to thank everyone who played their part and turned pain into progress 🕯️

Luton is one of the most generous places in the UK - and a large part of that is our faith communities.

It was great to join the Muslim Charities Forum in Parliament. Great to see Luton friends & see BSL interpreters there so we could learn first hand from deaf young people’s charity Deaf World.
