A reminder: The Attorney General of the United States should be the people's lawyer, not the president's personal attorney. The Department of Justice should act to protect the public, not just the occupant of the Oval Office and his political allies.

The cruelty is the point. There is no strategic or economic justification for this. It is a cruel political act by people who would burn food, burn money, rather than feed others.
Watch this.

AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.

I honestly think a significant amount of the "productivity increase" from AI adoption is from neglecting our collective responsibility to mentor and train new college grads. If we fail to do that, there won't be new experienced folks in 10 years, which is incredibly short-sighted.
Chilling piece on employment effects of AI on early careers. Includes this line, which will probably become the norm for many firms: "Managers at Shopify must now justify hiring a human by first explaining why AI can’t do the job."

“Frozen hot chocolate“ is too clumsy. Needs something more marketable, like frot chocolate.
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

The MTG pivot is a good dragnet for identifying the most gullible people in all of mankind. Also, it's cross-political. You can identify the easiest marks left, right, and center here. A very easy, inoffensive, diverse way to identify our society's finest wallet inspector customers

Remember the recent middle-of-the-night apartment building raid where children were dragged outside naked & zip-tied in the street while black & Latino residents were _sorted by race_ and piled into separate vans while their apartments were ransacked & robbed? That raid? So it resulted in 0 arrests.
