That part of me is wrong though. I have a loving supportive partner and there's no reason to believe that my relationships fit some immutable pattern. So I indulge in fantasies and play where my autonomy is taken from me, but it has to stay play and I have to remember I don't actually deserve that.

That does sound hot. Part of me believes my partners will inevitably be disappointed in me romantically and de-prioritize me, and it feels safer to be a thing they like to fuck and hurt and play with and earn my space in their life that way. So I get the appeal of overwhelming controlling love.

Reminds me of an affirmation/promise I've made with my best friend and also my partner that goes roughly:
* I don't deserve to be abused.
* The harm an abusive relationship causes will never be worth it.
* I won't allow myself to be abused.
* If they're worried about me, I will take them seriously.

Reminds me of when authors pull a "the only way to stop a bad guy with eugenics is a good guy with eugenics" and uncritically accept the premise that eugenics works. Why are we accepting/assuming that these political projects would work well? Why are we doing the fascist's work for them?

very reasonable. I think in the fiction the aesthetics help create a brutally violent fascist authoritarianism setting for the kind of abuse it focuses on to believably happen in, but when the fascist aesthetics themselves are the appeal in the fiction, art, or cosplay/play, that's just gross.
