This is a very concise statement of the case.

The district Conway is running in is one where Dems regularly win with 90% of the vote. We elected one of the most liberal members of congress over and over when I was a kid, and re-elected him one more time after he died, just for good measure.
Just a reminder that George Conway is not fundraising right now to run against a MAGA republican.

He is fundraising to run against progressive Democrats.

Gallego voted *yesterday* to confirm another Trump nominee for the Defense Department.

This was to confirm the guy who ran the White House Medical Unit as a pill mill, and was also fired in a big scandal for mismanaging CIA's medical services, to run the entire military healthcare system. Not "he's qualified, fine." A nominee the Senate would have obviously shot down in normal times.

Anyone not actively involved in impeaching and no other activity should just resign. There is no government until he is gone. Pretending otherwise props up him, not government.
The number of ways this is unconstitutional lunacy
is…a lot

honestly, if nothing else change if/when we get another democratic president in the White House, at the very least do this
We should appoint more people from state universities and less Ivy League shits

Worth noting: ABC World News Tonight offered a full report on the J6 anniversary, including one rioter’s tearful apology to police, a statement from Pence and a note that the WH website today repeated “the lie” that the election was stolen.

NBC Nightly News didn’t cover the anniversary at all
Tonight on the CBS Evening News, the 5-year anniversary of January 6 got 15 seconds of coverage 25 minutes into the show. The only pictures shown: Pardoned “defendants” marching through DC as Dokoupil said Trump accused Dems of “failing to prevent” J6 while “Jeffries accused Trump of “whitewashing.”

People who have lived under regimes with actual state media, does this sound as much like state media as I think it does?

I think it feels more state media than Fox bc it’s trying to lull you to sleep instead of getting you over the head with ideology
Here's the clip of Tony Dokoupil ending tonight's broadcast by absolutely gushing over "ultimate Florida Man" Marco Rubio.

If you work at CBS you should resign.
"Marco Rubio, we salute you!"

A real thing that was said by the CBS Evening News anchor tonight.

CBS is regime TV, joining Fox News, oan, and newsmax.
Also tonight: An “exclusive” interview with Kristi Noem in which she’s seen “confronting” some guy being arrested and a tribute to Rubio that turns the Trump giving him a dozen jobs into a good thing, shows off “funny” AI-generated Rubio memes and ends with TD saying, “Marco Rubio we salute you.”

Hey @kaine.senate.gov why do you support Trump?
If Trump is really stealing spending power from Congress then it would be insanity for Democrats to vote to fund the government later this month. Shut it down until the president stops wiping his ass with the Constitution.

A recommended critique.

i understand how galling it is for americans to be offended at foreigners threatened with US military force, but one problem is that if you live in a US city you are being openly threatened with US military occupation on a day to day basis and every organ of the US government delcares you an enemy

When ICE tried to use my neighborhood as an escape route, I threw my shoes on and yelled at fascists and blew my whistle for twenty minutes. Went inside to take a shower and I felt incredible. Nobody on this site can make me feel that way by being mad at them.
my hot take is that I don't think it's this website specifically that's toxic. the Circumstances are toxic and nobody really knows what to do about it so they come online and scream. and if I may offer an alternative: actually going outside and screaming feels better.

"I’ll never get over thinking about what would have happened if either Congress had moved to impeach and remove Donald Trump on the night of January 6th or if the Biden administration had moved faster to investigate, prosecute, and arrest Donald Trump thereafter."
I believe the original sin Democrats, and especially the Biden administration, made after January 6th was viewing January 6th as the *end* of something, rather than the *beginning* of something. My post on how to remember this somber anniversary for democracy: www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/five-ways-...
Five Ways To Remember January 6th
Too many people saw January 6th as the final aggrieved death throes of Trumpism. We can now understand it was the start of something much darker.

Blue states shouldn't be sending tax dollars anymore. Red states wouldn't if roles were reversed. This is theft.
In his continuing revenge tour, Trump has frozen funding for “child care subsidies, social services and cash support for low-income families” to five very specific states: CA, NY, IL, MN, and CO. All of them are led by Democrats.

This is why I’m pushing for a state escrow account that holds federal funds before sending them on to Washington. If Trump wants to steal our tax dollars that were legally appropriated by Congress, then we should just be paying ourselves.
“Minnesota, New York, California, Illinois and Colorado will be cut off from around $7 billion in funding for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program, which provides cash assistance to households with children, according to two people familiar with the matter.”

Monstrously cruel.
