The context of all of this is that the Trump Administration has undone a Biden Era rule requiring U.S. airlines to reimburse passengers for lengthy delays, and they want you to talk about airplane dress codes, slippers and snacks instead.

Sean Duffy, the U.S. transportation secretary, has been urging people for the past week to dress and comport themselves better as a way of restoring “civility” to air travel. On Tuesday, he added another item to his list of concerns: the quality of the snacks handed out on commercial flights.

Sean Duffy, who has been promoting greater decorum among air travelers, said he would like to see choices besides salty pretzels and buttery cookies.

NEW: ALL FOUR PRO-HOUSING BALLOT QUESTIONS PASS!!!

For the first time, New Yorkers had the chance to choose more housing at the ballot box—and they chose it overwhelmingly. This is a historic victory for housing that will help make NYC more affordable. 🧵

Great piece from @errollouis.bsky.social about how important a yes vote on ballot questions 2, 3, 4, 5 is to NYC’s ability to take on our affordability crisis.

You’ll see obfuscation and name-calling, but no solutions from those who say the current system is just fine.

Trump: ‘We will be imposing a 50% Tariff on all Kitchen Cabinets, Bathroom Vanities, and associated products, starting October 1st, 2025. Additionally, we will be charging a 30% Tariff on Upholstered Furniture. The reason for this is the large scale “FLOODING” of these products

Kind of insane that corruption is just legal in the US
MSNBC’s report didn’t cite the case by name, but it sure looks like Biden DOJ officials thought SCOTUS’s ruling in McDonnell would prevent them from prosecuting Homen unless he committed an “official act” after taking/related to the alleged bribe.
the biden administration suspecting and proving that homan would take a bribe and then being unprepared to take the next step and just letting him walk away with $50k for doing nothing is so on the nose it just doesnt feel real

Hard to convince younger generations, but for decades, Republicans went on and on about how two of the worst things imaginable were (1) state intervention in the market and (2) DC using federal troops against US states; both so bad the people should be ready for armed rebellion in case it happens.

Every reputable expert I know considers mRNA vaccine technology to be one of the most revolutionary advances in medicine in our lifetimes. Its inventors won the Nobel Prize in 2023. Shutting it down now is pointless self-harm to humanity.
Release from HHS: HHS will wind down its development of the mRNA vaccine development activities under the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA).

I live off the G, so this would immediately increase operating expenses overnight and on weekends when trains are currently running without a conductor. The MTA would likely cut service sooner or later in response. I emailed my stats reps to ask them to rethink this, I recommend you do too.
A bill passed by the NYS Legislature banning One-Person Train Operation goes against best practices both across the country and world, and would leave New York’s transit system far behind its peers.
