Really love that the sandwich guy was on video whipping a sandwich at a CBP officer and right away was like "damn right I did that shit, I hit that pig with a sandwich" and the Justice Department tried to bigfoot the case and couldn't even get him on a misdemeanor because fuck you

Mattie Lubchansky is not only a real human woman but also the best comic author on the Internet and we should all be grateful to have her, goddamnit
truly, deeply sick of people online treating my like i'm an imaginary creature that lives in their phone and not like a real human woman

I had a water meter installed and eliminated all waste from my consumption. Got a 'just checking in' call from the water co. to ask how come my household was using only 14ltrs (~3 gallons) a day. Yeah, I think I'll sleep alright after prompting occasional mathsy code on a free-tier account.
I use almost exclusively digital media, with the exception of books I really care about.

But I've used like a strip steak's worth of water using cloud AI while the Luddites preach the value of physical media

(DRM-free digital media is way more practical to preserve)

Count me as among those who think it's better if reporters were kicked out of WH in addition to the Pentagon.

It would diminish the access journalism, people getting some morsel of a non-scoop--competing for it--in return for being nice. They'd instead compete more on exposing the horror show.

With the rush to find the gunman and pin it on the left it's worth remembering they still don't have a 'reason' for the MAGA supporter who shot at Trump. How many months has that been of the FBI investigating?

My main observation from the last few hours of monitoring US social media is that Democrats are universally denouncing political violence and calling for calm while MAGA are escalating language and openly lusting for retribution against broad categories of people they identity as their enemies.

Friendly reminder: Bsky doesn't censor words. You can say things like kill and fuck here.

When you choose to bowdlerize words on Bsky, it just breaks people's filters. If you type "r*pe" it means that anyone who has a filter to block the word "rape" still sees your post. Knock it off!

"Ban racially based targeting of Latinos by ICE" is a simple demand. It can be explained in a single sentence. Every Democrat can agree to it. It supports a key constituency that is drifting from Trump. It is a trivial piece of legislation. It reverses a very recent, outrageous SCOTUS decision.

So, almost guaranteeing anyone who needs to join their family members who have been recognised as refugees in the UK due to the risk to them in their home countries will have no option but the small boat crossing? And this is part of the master plan to *stop* the boats? I just… I give up.
BREAKING: Yvette Cooper says she is suspending all applications to bring family members to the UK under the asylum system.

I don't care what Farage or others who say they have a simple immigration solution claim, the UK can't just walk out of international commitments without massive economic and political damage, that's a lesson of Brexit.

fundamentally the problem is that if you think "hotels are where I stay on holiday and I like being on holiday so living in a hotel must be fun and it's not fair others get to do it and not me" then you have the intellectual reasoning of a little child and it's going to be hard to engage with you
