So initial experiments with Open AI's vibe-coding science tool Prism are going about as well as expected.

“Kevin Weil, head of OpenAI for Science, pushes that analogy himself. “I think 2026 will be for AI and science what 2025 was for AI in software engineering,”

So, a very painful lesson in “oh shit it can’t actually do that after all?”

One reasonable way to look at this is that Abbott is working to make Texas universities regional institutions rather than world-class ones. He does not want them competing for the most talented researchers.
“State government must lead by example and ensure that employment opportunities — particularly those funded with taxpayer dollars — are filled by Texans first" said Abbott.

McLaughlin: "You must try harder. It is not easy to become sane."
DHS's assistant secretary for public affairs denied posting an except of the song "We'll Have Our Home Again" to The New York Times, after I pointed out to the reporter they shared it on Instagram. She said it had "no relation" to the song performed by members of the Mannerbund. (It does.)

Reminder that the Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail editorial pages exhibit a human version of what AI calls "model collapse"—if you feed a language model its own output its output rapidly deteriorates into self-parody. The owners of the right-wing press read their own media and it rotted their brains.

Holy shit, I made a Downfall meme back when we were renegotiating our CBA that went pretty viral, but this is brilliant. It’s fantastic all the way through, and then the last three seconds sent me into orbit.
Downfall Bovino Edition. You're welcome.

In case anyone forgot, this administration had already prohibited public funding of mRNA vaccine research. Moderna was one of the single biggest private funders of mRNA vaccine research. This will set us back decades.

Moderna CEO says Trump’s policies have so curtailed vaccine market they won’t be investing in new research. So that’s awesome. Good luck when the next pandemic hits. www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8fWErMy/

Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel said the company doesn’t plan to invest in new late-stage vaccine trials because of growing opposition to immunizations from US officials. #health #business #medicine #US #government

Honestly it's one of the most underrated features of the coordinated conservative propaganda machine: they can do stuff like make gay marriage the number one social issue in American politics for 10 years in a row, then, as soon as the polling turns, completely abandon it, and the base just forgets!
I know the phrase “Someday everyone will have been against this,” but ngl I didn’t expect to see this kind of reversal from the chuddiest little freaks happening so quickly.

It is important to know that despite its prominence TikTok loses billions of dollars and tweaking algorithms lays havoc to your ad sales. Oracle is gonna destroy this thing and it’s going to combine with the data center debt and consume it whole

Remember the Bundy insanity during the Obama years? Armed guys occupied a federal office and one of their buddies took position with a sniper rifle aimed at federal agents?

Exactly how many of those guys were shot and killed?

CBP chief Bovino has confirmed that the officers who executed Alex Pretti in the street yesterday are not only *not on administrative leave,* they have all been reassigned to other jurisdictions and are all on the street today.

This is totally unheard of for any officer-involved shooting

Propaganda-level lying and discrediting of DHS handling any investigation.
Noem's lies are mind blowing: "This individual attacked those officers, had a weapon on him and multiple, dozens of rounds of ammunition, wishing to inflict harm on these officers, coming, brandishing like that.
