Just a civil engineer who’s maybe a little too obsessed with transit, biking, and urban planning
Not sure how I feel about one of my go to restaurants putting up like 20 Frey campaign posters

A better Twin Cities Blvd is possible.

Slowing down car trips between Mpls and St Paul while also slowing transit trips only worsens access to jobs, destinations, friends, and the various unique communities across our metro.

Significantly improving transit must be a part of any freeway removal

Amy Klobuchar, leader of the Vichy Democrats!
This evening, every Democrat on the Senate Agriculture Committee backed the nomination of MAGA wingnut climate denier Brooke Rollins for Secretary of Agriculture, who admitted to a lack of basic knowledge of the department's workings. Every. Single. One.

In Minnesota, we have three local restaurants owned by the same family. They're all called Brasa (two in Minneapolis, and one in St. Paul, and they're excellent. But they're closed today, for an excellent reason. Here's their statement:

If this goes through, it will literally kill kids. If a child doesn’t trust their parents enough to come out to them… there’s probably a good fucking reason.
5. Sec 3(b) says that it will pull funding from any school that does not forcibly out its students, any school that "supports" the social transition of their trans students, and more.

This is an unconstitutional attempt to force every trans kid in America in schools to detransition at school.

I’ve heard from community health centers in Minnesota who are already looking at layoffs by the end of the day. May not be able to make payroll at the end of the week.

Republicans need to grow a spine here. This isn’t a game, it’s people’s lives.

I'm so upset. My bike was stolen out of my apartment building. It is a black Trek FX 3 Stagger, rim brakes, size small, 2018 or 2019, and will be missing its front wheel. Twin Cities friends, please keep an eye out! Message me for more details.

MnDOT can't help but be incoherent because rebuilding an interstate you have called an "atrocity" is kind of incoherent.
Back from break, Angela Conley asking where does repair from past harm come in here? Melissa Barnes saying that comes in AFTER they choose an alternative

How dumb that is is not lost on Angela Conley, who presses the point that repair for past harms should be involved in CHOOSING the alternative

He basically says that doing a dynamic model at this phase, w regional analysis, would be "a lot of work" "given how many trips these options might divert"

IN OTHER WORDS, the option they want to eliminate now would MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE to whether people drive or not, THEREFORE they've ignored it

Using an Evie car for last minute Christmas shopping today. Sometimes driving makes the most sense.

Most urbanists aren't anti car, we're just against the idea that a car is your only tool for transportation.

I am a climate scientist and this is correct ⬇️
Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.
