Last week, I visited a Hanukkah market in New York City. Inside, the atmosphere was joyous, filled with community and tradition—exactly as it should be. Outside, the reality was sobering: metal detectors at the synagogue doors, heavy police presence, and blocked-off streets.

I am horrified and heartbroken by the terror attack targeting the Jewish community in Australia. Antisemitic hate and violence must be given no refuge in our societies. My thoughts are with the injured and the grieving families. May the memories of those senselessly murdered forever be a blessing.

Travelers don’t need fancier outfits or new snacks. We need basic protections when flights are canceled. Infuriating that the Trump administration is prioritizing style over substance—while stripping away the rights passengers actually depend on.

Imagine trying to settle a property dispute by talking only to the intruder. That's the logic here. The Trump/Putin proposal is an attempt to impose terms on a country under attack leaving the defending nation out of the room. Peace cannot be done to Ukraine; it must be done with Ukraine.

Trump’s so-called "peace plan" is a blueprint for Russian victory. Forcing Ukraine to surrender any territory under threat is not diplomacy—it’s appeasement that guarantees future conflict. We must not reward Putin’s aggression with Ukrainian land.

The U.S. Coast Guard—a branch that literally hunted Nazi submarines in WWII—has decided that swastikas are no longer "hate symbols," but merely "potentially divisive." This is disgraceful and unacceptable. Our grandfathers didn't fight fascism abroad so we could protect its symbols at home.

Threats against lawmakers are not speech; they are coercion designed to freeze the functioning of government. If Congress can’t advise the military without fear of execution, then checks and balances are dead. The House and Senate must formally censure this attack. Call your representative now.
