Speaking as the president of an NGO and as a trans woman: when orgs decide to abandon a group, to sacrifice them, it is not that group’s job to “understand how hard it would have been to fight.”

How about we worry less, as a society, about whether individuals might be cheating to get a disability accommodation or some help buying food, and more about whether extremely wealthy people and corporations are paying their fair share of taxes?

It feels like this is a point people are constantly rediscovering, but these are the women who put together every church event, every school event, every Christmas tree lighting and Fall Pumpkin Festival. They are the unpaid infrastructure of civic life in many places and they're PISSED.
