<div class="field field-field-text"><p>The Israeli Knesset on Tuesday advanced a bill to impose the death penalty on Palestinian prisoners convicted of killing Israelis on "nationalistic grounds".</p>
<p>In the first reading, 39 members approved the bill, while 16 others opposed it. </p>
<p>A bill must pass the third and final level of voting by a simple majority to become law.</p>
<p>The legislation, championed by far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, was pushed through the Knesset’s National Security Committee on 3 November, drawing widespread condemnation from human rights groups.</p>

Rick Scott was CEO of a large, for-profit healthcare company called HCA. While Rick Scott was CEO, HCA stole so much money from Medicare they were fined $1.7 Billion.
Rick Scott told me his plan would be to take all of the remaining ACA subsidies and redistribute them to HSA accounts and people can then buy whatever insurance a state certifies. Basically a repeal/replace.

There is *no* upside to the promise of a vote on a piece of legislation that is guaranteed to have a poison pill (ie Hyde language). And they'll instantly assume a disproportionate share the blame for the shutdown. It's a lose now *and* lose later situation. It's absurd levels of loser strategy

"Hyde language" would be a ban on anything related to abortion. So, any Senate Democrat that caves is agreeing to vote to implement a nationwide abortion ban in exchange for healthcare subsidies.
Democrats are likely to get a vote on an extension later. But they've already gotten similar votes. Republicans already vowing to block an extension without major changes to the ACA, like adding Hyde language.
