So annoyed Thomas Skinner didn’t get an OBE.
Great dancer & motivates so many people with his body fat & smell.
Disappointed too for Lucy Connolly such a kind, humble lady who has worked tirelessly for prison reform.
And no award for Eamonn Holmes?
Appalling!

Am I right to understand that Kemi Badenoch is now demanding Rachel Reeves’ resignation because RR failed to raise all the taxes Kemi called on her to resign for if she did raise them?
🤪
KB really does strike me as perhaps this govt’s only major bit of luck.

Government sought to manage public expectations before Budget. Shock, horror. Can't the BBC find some real news?

A few years ago, Kay Burley debated Bob Crow. She suggested train drivers were overpaid. She reckoned drivers just sat down all day and pressed buttons.
In contrast to Burley, who sat down all day reading stuff out and making glib observations for many times more than any driver.
The right wing halfwits who believe train drivers are overpaid need to give their head a wobble.
In charge of £ms of kit and, far more importantly, the safety of passengers is worth every penny of their £75K.

There's plenty of valid criticism of the BBC's coverage of Reform, but the BBC is a big & complex organization so it's wrong to generalise, as this solid piece of analysis from @benchu.bsky.social illustrates.
Do Reform's economic/financial plans add up?

Claims on:

- the costs of net zero
- taxes
- spending
- cutting waste

My analysis for BBC website 👇

Do Reform's economic plans add up?
The party has pledged to boost spending, but some have questioned how the party intends to pay for its plans.

I also discussed what the bond and equity markets have been screaming about Britain since Brexit and Liz Truss in my latest Wealth of Nations newsletter commemorating Labour's forthcoming unhappy anniversary. Britain has been living under a delusion for years, fuelled by the mad right-wing press
Daddy Issues
Thoughts on Labour's unhappy anniversary, Nato's unresolved Daddy issues, can Brussels rescue the global trading system, why Europe's anti-green backlash is bad for business and Britain alone

If Lambeth are forced to pull a series of massive festivals starting *this month* then I assume they could be liable for organisers’ costs - which could presumably run into millions. That could have big consequences, and not good ones.
MASSIVE legal verdict just in for festivals in London parks.... Questions over whether Mighty Hoopla and Field Day and can go ahead this month.... residents won legal challenge arguing they need planning permission... implications for all other London parks.

Harvey Price time then.

In 2016, I had an ill fated stint as the Social Media Producer on Loose Women on ITV. It was a disaster, I should never have applied for the job, I certainly shouldn’t have been given it. I could do the actual job standing on my head, but the politics of the place…woof.

Boris Johnson’s million-pound Daily Mail gig continues to be farcical. A recent column, confidently praising Trump’s Ukraine stance, was swiftly pulled after Trump and JD Vance launched a scathing attack on Zelensky.
