you should absolutely read this book. masterpiece of the Rotten People In a Sinister House Keep Dying genre. and if you are REALLY unhinged like I am you should read it in bed at night. that version comes with an added audio soundtrack of your own tiny screams every time there's a noise outside

This is my favorite headcanon and it's a great example of how readers can offer a different reading of a text that the author never considered and did not intend, but is nonetheless validated by the text itself.
A shitpost so great Billy Joel actually heard about it

Don’t worry gang, no one actually starts their New Year’s resolutions on the 1st. And you’d be silly to begin on a Friday, best save it for Monday. But Monday is the 5th so you’ve kind of missed the boat anyway and can safely put it off for next year.

Christmas doesn't actually end until the 6th of January, or the Sunday after if you're going by Ordinary Time, or Candlemas if you're going by Ye Olde Calendar, so it's technically illegal to take your tree down or eat anything other than trifle for breakfast until early February

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

If of dreadful poetry
You will never have your fill
Pray peruse at your Sunday leisure
This thread of indecent poetic pleasure
Though mayhap will it make you ill
On this day of the Lord
It will not make you bored
This thread of poetry awful
Of which, as I say, you should get an eyeful
Ah, 28 December: 146th anniversary of the Tay Bridge disaster, which tragically took the lives of 59 people – and rather more happily gave the world ‘Sir’ William Topaz McGonagall’s most famous work

God, what have you done?
It's a Pink Pansy Court
And you stopped at the curb
Oh mama, I'm just making puns
On the street in my wheels
It's where I belong
Down at the Pink Pansy Court
Yes, I pulled over

In an effort at something good on the internet today: A thread on Mr KJC, gingerbread architect of the early 21st century.

Mr KJC got his beginnings like so many gingerbread architects: with a kit house for the kids. Kind of fun but the premade pieces are dry and nasty, only technically edible.
