Christ on a bike, this is brilliant.
And disgustingly historically accurate. 10/10

LOL.

Again CBS staffers are correct to hate her but her firing all the Brown and Black people not being a bellweather is not just because she doesn’t know , but because a lot of white and upper class folks in intellectual position

Think the contempt should switch off when it comes to them
Bari Weiss just sent this Christmas Eve email to the CBS News staff about "building trust," which includes her tripling down on spiking the CECOT piece "to make sure it's comprehensive and fair."

One CBS staffer tells me: "She really has no idea how insulting she comes across."

We are so fortunate to be alive at the same time as Queen Latifah. My mom had me fell in love with her song on Q’s Juke Joint and then “Living Single” happened and all the movies. Also, her rap songs were probably my first encounter with feminism. “Who you calling a bitch?” She raised a legion.

This is totally underreported. Trump is not just going after "illegals." He's going after people who were here legally, by changing their status.

These are people who entered the US the right way, and never broke a law. Now they are subject to Trump's whim, his ICE goons, and inhuman detention.
Trump has revoked legal status for at least 1.6 million immigrants over the past year by cancelling programs like TPS and student visas.

Remember: these are people who entered the country legally.

Trump never cared about “legal immigration" — just inflicting cruelty.

the least shocking thing in the epstein files that wont get enough attention. police regularly arrest and charge victims to coerce them into participating, often jailing them in conditions that are worse.
jesus the Palm Beach Police really sought arrest warrants against underage Epstein victims for coming forward and cooperating, and (purported) admitting to crimes, and it caused the victims to become uncooperative with the federal investigation

*sigh*

The show runners really hate Ortegas, apparently.

Also, Thomas Jane is...a choice.

MLB's tech regulation plans give itself full control over who can do business with baseball.
And I learned an AI scouting firm — founded by the uncle of an exec in Rob Manfred’s inner circle — may win a bid.
Team sources and antitrust experts told me it creates a conflict of interest.

NEW from me:
MLB Teams Fear League Will Pick Winners and Losers in Tech
The league is taking control of the choosing of tech partners, rather than leaving it up to teams; one firm under consideration was founded by a top MLB exec’s uncle.

Jed is likely done signing relievers to major league contracts for now. More than likely still a few he will sign on minor league contracts between now and Spring Training.

Now the wait for a starter...
Is this thing on? Been off for a bit…

Per source, Cubs have agreed to a 1-year deal with club option with RHP Jacob Webb. Patrick Mooney of The Athletic was first on this news.

Can also confirm that C Christian Bethancourt will be back with Cubs on a Minors/NRI deal.

it’s unsettling how many USians seem to think CECOT is unlike that prison your uncle works at in Colorado or Virginia or California or Alabama…

humiliation, deprivation, isolation, sexual violence…constant torture inflicted on people who both have & have not committed harm—that’s…prison.

Rickman was well known as a delight to work with, often patient and kind. Imagine what a piece of shit Allen must have been for Rickman to say that to all his co-workers.
Parisot (the Director) tells a story about how Tim Allen just started crying after a scene one day

"I don't like these feelings i'm having." Says Tim. "I'm going back to my trailor" and walks off.

There's silence for a second.

"Oh my god." Says Rickman. "I think Tim just experienced acting."
Galaxy Quest - a perfect movie, just a wonderful love letter to actors, sci-fi, Star Trek in particular, and to fandom - really deserves a proper physical release with decent extras. Think Weaver's right that releasing a R-rated cut would be fun, too.

The shitty homophobia from women needs to be read as the red flag for abuse that if is

Someone who mocks others for liking basic comfort only do it because they want to control it in the relationship

Same for folks who act like keeping a pleasurable space is a “favor”
I wish nothing but the life dumbasses like this deserve.

I think he was a great actor in the 70s. Much more subtle. By the 80s, he was playing the same guy in every film.
Unpopular opinion-Al Pacino is not a great actor. Hes the same guy in every movie whether hes a cop, a bad guy, whatever. There are exceptions-Dog Day Afternoon and Serpico, Godfather 2 he wasnt bad

Keeping it a buck, those “don’t talk to my man, talk to me first” comments are abuse. You are controlling another person’s interactions with others and isolating them as punishment for imagined infractions. You don’t have to lay hands on a partner to be abusing them.

When Harry Met Sally is a masterpiece, but I will always say Stand By Me. Getting those kinds of performances from those boys took some serious skill.
Name your fav Rob Reiner film.

More than one actor gave their best performance in one of his movies.

Tom Cruise
Wil Wheaton and Jerry O'Connell
Billy Crystal
Cary Elwes

Reiner didn't write the scripts for most of his movies, but the reason SO many of the lines from his films are memorable is the way the actors said them
I saw A Few Good Men before Princess Bride and I think there’s still a strong case for it being the best performance Cruise has ever handed in. Also just a stupidly good cast full of future all time greats
