More like Admiral “Bitch“ Bradley.

You know what, I’ll keep workshopping this one.
Idk why I expected a navy seal to find a backbone tbh
A top admiral is expected to tell lawmakers tomorrow that he and his legal adviser concluded that the two survivors of a boat strike in September were attempting to continue their drug run, making them and the damaged vessel legitimate targets for another attack.

Weighing in on turkey discourse: no one would cook a 15lb bird on a normal day when you're not feeding 20-30 people. THAT'S the reason people don't make it normally

Also, if it's bad, you've cooked it wrong (I say as if I cook or eat meat).

If you have seven given names and a cutesy nickname, you're upper class. If you have the normal amount of names and an ASBO, you're lower class. Everyone else is middle class.

@bonelung.bsky.social @katabacus.bsky.social am I wrong?
Could someone explain to me what is meant when a British person refers to "the middle class" ? Like, in the US, as I hear it, it basically just means a person who makes a certain amount of money, not too far below and not wildly above the median. Seems like a complex concept when UK writers use it?

An ICE agent hit by a sandwich earlier this year testified that he could feel the sandwich’s “explosive” impact through his ballistic vest. “I could smell the onions and mustard.”
This made us hungry, so we've rounded up our favorite Bay Area sandwiches that are big, messy, smelly, and aerodynamic.

the best theory of victory would probably have been getting the GOP to nuke the filibuster, but that would entail holding out for periods that would likely spook AFGE among others
"A couple million people should just go without paychecks for however long it takes until either the Republican party decides it no longer hates the ACA or the 120th Congress is sworn" is not a viable or serious theory of victory, as more than a couple of us pointed out in Sept
Then why do the shutdown at all? What did it accomplish? The Democrats knew going into the shutdown that it would mean federal workers eat shit indefinitely - Republicans even cited it as a reason Democrats would break: and they were right!

man, it’s worth noting that all of the reporting about this was dogshit all the way through
"The senators viewed as most likely to vote for a clean [CR] to reopen the government are Shaheen, Ossoff and Sens. Gary Peters (D-Mich.), Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.), Peter Welch (D-Vt.), Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) and Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.)."

Two out of eight, great reporting.

I get why everyone is incandescent towards the moderates voting yes. I get why the mods blinked.

I also think Schumer should have shoved them into a locker until the filibuster got got. There is no good reason to make this vote right now and a great many bad ones.

Split pea soup from dried. Sauté aromatics, whatever you have. Got garlic and a pepper? Do it. Carrots and onion? That too. Add the peas and a bunch of water; simmer until the peas break apart. Make sure there’s some form of salt and umami. Lots of fiber and protein. This got me through grad school.
