One of my more controversial opinions is that the US needs to significantly raise taxes to the tune of a couple % of GDP right now, even before any expansive social democratic reforms, and that means you—yes you, dear highly educated professional—will need to pay up, not just nebulous billionaires.

Conservatives love doing the opposite of occam's razor. "Over 10% of people are on food stamps because over 10% of people are in poverty" is too simple. It has to mean there are actually half a billion people in America.

RFK at HHS is like if a baby crashed a car in to a crowd of people. Sure I'm mad at the baby, if not particularly surprised by the outcome - but my bigger concern is all the adults who handed the baby the car keys and insisted it'd be fine.
