This is the playlist btw in case anyone out there is interested. There are so many good songs to inspire and convict and help you think about America, protest, and hope. It’s massive and an evolving project. 😂 Just shuffle it and live in the tension.

The whole illegitimate pregnancy storyline in season 6 of outlander is really annoying and overwrought.

Just going to note again, because somehow we've all completely retconned this and I feel like I'm taking crazy pills, that pound-for-pound Biden had one of the most draconian border security regimes of any U.S. president ever, second only to Trump, *many of whose policies he inherited and kept*
Not going to read them all because jesus fucking christ but this is nasty work from Friedersdorf

I recently discovered a new (to me) musician and may I suggest the US trades her for Addison Rae and/or Tate McRae to fill the role of up and coming international breakout Canadian artist?!?!

My primary comment on the homeschool bashing recirculating today is that we should try this but while also targeting the many pitfalls of modern American public school education because it’s not all awesome and it’s really strange how we approach this topic.

With the renewed discussion of IDs and the SAVE act I just want to remind everyone about passport cards.

They are $30 for adults/$15 for children and are legal domestic equivalents to passport visa books but only meant for land (and some sea) crossings.
Get a Passport Card
Compare the U.S. passport card and passport book so you can decide if you want to apply for one or both documents.

Also ISU: and there’s nothing we love more than handing it to abusers, abuse apologists, and rape deniers

I had a sixth grade teacher (in the late 90s) incorrectly grade one test right before a deadline which resulted in me being assigned to the lower math track and even though she later corrected the test I was relegated to the bad at math bin for the rest of my middle/high school education.
Those who weren’t resigned to the Math Idiot Garbage Bin as kids may not grasp how much “if you’re bad at math, you’ll die in a ditch and all will be better off for it” sentiment was floating around in the 90s and 2000s, but it sure felt real to me.

(my parents are great! It didn’t come from them!)
