Ahahahaha this again, I was brought up on this idea but once I started looking into it I realized how expensive it would be to Islanders to pay for the separation.

Having grown up on SI, I want to note that the borough would implode hard and fast if it tried to become a separate city without the preferences/infrastructure support it gets as Manhattan and (lesser extent) Brooklyn’s bedroom community.

Seen a lot of folks saying their monthly premiums went up, and we were confused because it seemed like ours wouldn't? And they did stay the same as last year - but everything on the back end went up instead! Copays, deductible, out of pocket, and coinsurance all doubled or more. Argh!

I just got back from a walk. While I was walking through the park, a little white boy and his father flagged me down from the very other end of the park. Now to be fair, I have on my hat on, so I’m easy to spot lol. The little boy drew me this. A month ago. He has been waiting to see me again.
