BBC News: "the government believe refugees are deliberately bringing their children to avoid deportation"

As opposed to doing what with their children??

If you invented a robot that sometimes cleaned my house really well & quickly & saved me lots of work—but *often* just moved things around without really cleaning—& *sometimes* added germs *to* the surfaces—such that just to be safe, I always had to clean after it

I don’t think I’d buy that robot

The street fascists love it, the posh National Front love it, Tory crackpots love it, the country’s nastiest political commentators love it and they’re all cheering it on as loudly as they can. Because they’re all afraid Labour is wiping the floor with them and making them irrelevant, I assume.

It’s dinner time for the police. Appears to be pizza from a Salvation Army van.

Trump: "They saw a lot of unbelievable activity at the McDonald's next to the base where they take off. The McDonald's was doing -- right? -- 5 times, they were going crazy. So they say 'there's something going on over there.' The biggest activity that McDonald's had ever had. It was a nice story."

Bret Stephens and the NYT played major roles in manufacturing consent for the Iraq War.

Now they appear to be running the same playbook on Venezuela.

Well, I suppose they renamed the Department of Defense to the Department of War, so probably about time to rename the Department of Health to the Department of Disease.
RFK Jr says he will end the "war" on saturated fats, contradicting decades of evidence-based dietary recommendations.

"We’re ending the war on saturated fats in this country. So, we’re going to publish dietary guidelines that are going to stress the importance of protein and saturated fats."

What would a bailout even be, though? TARP was to buy distressed assets, and in this case, what would those be? Mag7 companies aren't going bankrupt. OpenAI can't be "bailed out" in the same way, as it'll keep burning money. And no, oAI is not some giant "propaganda conspiracy."
The AI bubble may be about to bust.

Peter Thiel has sold all of his Nvidia stock.

We all need to say this very clearly:

NO BAILOUTS FOR THEFT-TECH!

Expropriate their asses instead.

They stole from all of us and fully plan to burn the planet.

They owe us - not the other way around. 1/3

These policies, where they aren't just reiterating ones which already exist in a differently worded form, are just plain idiotic.
They show not only a complete disregard for people's lives, or basic humanity, but also reality. 1/

Why do they lie about something so easily verifiable?
The Home Secretary says "we have become the destination of choice in Europe, clearly visible to every people smuggler and would-be illegal migrant across the world"

That is a factually untrue claim: the Home Office shows that the UK is fifth, getting 1/10 claims, while Germany gets 1/5 claims

i'd say it did. the public put a group of thieves, vandals and extremists in office last november and they promptly went about destroying everything that might work to limit their ability to loot, steal and inflicting pain on the people they hate
This whole NYT account about the weaponization of DOJ is beyond disturbing. Kinda feels like the US government fell in January.
