Nice graphic from @beyondfossilfuels.bsky.social

There is widespread, systemic denialism that gas is a fossil fuel that causes climate change - even among a variety of energy and climate professionals, it gets treated like 'the good fossil fuel'

This needs to change

I don’t want Supreme Court justices that are friends with each other, I want Supreme Court justices who are unflinchingly against religious fundamentalism and fascism, especially if it’s coming from their colleagues.

Income-based fines are very good. I want billionaires to be ticketed $20M for speeding

Never shut up about tech that enables theft on both ends and uses more energy and water than a small country. Never.
can people stop telling me to let ai in the arts go??? if we shut up now, there's no controlling it, no regulating it, artists and authors will keep having all their works cannibalised and reshaped for profit they don't see.

so, no. i won't shut up.

fuck ai.

They came to Al Shifa Hospital for safety, because they were driven from their homes or because they were injured in airstrikes. They came to what should’ve been a place of sanctuary and they were gunned down and left for the dogs. No one with any respect for life could’ve done this.

Like the three unarmed hostages waving a white flag and countless other incidents, it's impossible to reconcile this with any reasonable rules of engagement. These were branded vehicles traveling in a deconflicted zone and they had coordinated their movements with the IDF.

we've really forgotten how terrifying this was. we were looking at Great Depression level unemployment in the space of like a month. and without the CARES Act it would have happened
Last week, a staggering record of 3.3 million people filed for unemployment.
This week it's 6.6 million. That's 10 million Americans who lost their jobs over 2 weeks.

FYI don’t support Autism Speaks, they’re a harmful organization.
I see Autism Speaks has had some large national fundraisers recently as part of Autism Awareness Month, so a reminder that they are pretty terrible as an organization, and see autism as something to be cured rather than accepted. Organizations run by folks with autism are in the linked article.

Trump immediately announced he would refuse to wear one, needlessly turning masking into a divisive partisan issue and contributing to countless avoidable deaths.
