There are good reasons to be angry with the gerontocracy that is the House Democrats but a gotcha photo of a member needing a walker after hip surgery doesn’t make that case.

Yes, Nancy Pelosi is old. She’s also not in the leadership anymore and she was actually there doing her job, walker and all.
84 year old Nancy Pelosi is using a walker on the House floor right now, source on the Hill tells me.

IMPORTANT: If you’re turned away at the polls because your name is not on the register, don’t walk away.

Your response [verbatim] should be: “Give me a provisional ballot with a receipt, as required by law.”

Don’t let them steal your vote.

abstention is not an option. refusing to make even the slightest concession toward keeping fascists out of power isn't a brave and lonely stand. it is the sin of scrupulosity, the overruling desire the keep oneself clean--and it has never yet delivered anyone from harm.

Fantastic, fiercely courageous piece, opening with a quotation from historian Timothy Snyder.

Also fitting that the Constitution was signed in Philadelphia. 👏👏👏

Well, here it is. Palestinian and Arab leaders openly saying if not Harris the alternative is a lot worse.

now thinking about that white person in my mentions the other day saying it doesnt matter what Palestinians think, they're voting against Harris because Gaza
"after the election, (we) can hold Harris accountable with “every nonviolent tool of democracy.” Such tools would likely not be available under Trump, who has vowed to deport pro-Palestinian protesters and threatened to turn the military against his own citizens. "

So I experienced voter intimidation for the first time today. A car covered in Trump stickers parked in front of the entrance to the polling place, windows down. When I accepted a democratic voting guide, the people in the car—three older white ladies—started shouting abuse at me. It’s been reported

This was the obvious lesson that emerged from researching my book on concentration camps. Such a simple principle! Yet over and over some ruling party or leader manages to convince the public that no, THESE people are different and evil. And always for power, while the vulnerable pay the price.
There can be no acceptable justification for the dehumanization of a population.

It's a simple guiding principle.
I have adopted Ta-Nehesi Coates position on the Israeli-Palestinan discourse where talking about the "complexity" of the situation is a red herring for avoiding the morality of it, which is *extremely* simple.
