If Trump were to militarily attack Greenland, Europe would have to respond. At that point, it would be logical for China and Russia to engage.

There's a legitimate risk of a world war if Trump isn't contained.
Trump: NATO members to face tariffs increasing to 25% until a Greenland purchase deal is struck
Trump recently hinted that he may pursue a tariff strategy on Greenland similar to the one he used to force foreign countries to change their drug prices.

That's a pretty good deal honestly.
More than 200,000 Danish citizens have signed a petition to buy California as a response to Trump’s attempt to take Greenland.

They say they will provide Californians with “rule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.”

Nice win!

I have many comments on his shocking moves, but he's not going to hear them so I'll just seethe quietly.

No one believes you're actually a Democrat Amanda. And yes, *you* are the baddies, obviously.

"Let it all work out" - Eze

It still has and it still will. Every great journey has setbacks.

Eze is a great player and person. Love him.
January 11, 2026 at 3:56 PM
He got a shot on goal just now at least. The commentator made the same point we just did "we haven't seen very much of Eze this game"

I think he'll be fine, but going through a bit of a dip.

I'm happy with the Arsenal result against Portsmouth so far, but I'm surprised at how anonymous Eze has been even in his preferred position.

I struggle to think of even one Reactionary Centrist who doesn't regularly fit this pattern.

The only grace I can grant: maybe we apply that label to the people who do exactly this, rather than it being a self-labeled group that then ends up acting this way.
The reactionary centrist logic is simple: if the left does something bad it’s the left’s fault, and if the right does something bad, it’s also the left’s fault for making them do it. It’s a simple formula and once you see it every one of their arguments is the same

This group has to be able to prove themselves getting these minutes. They are a strong bunch, so no excuses.

Post the feudal age, the societal bargain was that the highest of the upper classes got to enjoy the benefits of great wealth, so long as the lower classes still felt their lives improving.

The biggest benefit to the upper classes has been safety from the masses. That bargain is weakening today.

American police have a tendency of unreasonably putting themselves in positions where shooting people can be justified.

I'm hyping myself up to buy tickets to an Arsenal game and fly over there.

I've been a fan for 20 years, and this may just be the season.

There's little chance the next Republican President will choose to give up Presidential power and return to typical norms.

The American experiment with democracy is dying without much of a whimper. Only a question now of where things will end up.

In speaking to the United Nations, the Trump administration is sending a clear message to everyone in the Western Hemisphere that unless Trump approves of your leaders and alliances, then he reserves the right to overthrow your government.

Chelsea played terribly today and Manchester City still let them draw the game. I hope they continue to make these kinds of mistakes.

If the US Congress doesn't stop this, nowhere is safe. Not in other countries, and not in America either.
Watch this. Watch again.

"This incredible thing last night... We have to do it again [in other countries]. We can do it again, too. Nobody can stop us."
January 4, 2026 at 2:23 AM
He's just stating it out loud, knowing that there will be no consequences.

All the world can do is cower and hope that enough powerful people in America still believe in a rights based global order.

But I'm not hopeful.
Trump: "We're going to have our very large United States oil companies go in, spend billions of dollars, fix the badly broken infrastructure and start making money for the country. And we are ready to stage a second and much larger attack if we need to do so."

I was in university at the time, and I'm a part of the 9/11 and Iraq War generation (was in university for both). So being politically aware was just...how we survived I guess.

That was the story they released, not one that Aristide agreed with.

Witnesses also swore he was led out at gunpoint.

bsky.app/profile/rasm...
The official line from the US was that the President resigned and asked them to help him get out of the country.

The President and witnesses denied this, and said he was taken at gunpoint.

Yep, number 2 in particular. Them releasing him in Africa actually reduced the blowback significantly. Trump's idea of putting Maduro on trial in the US is a bold escalation in technique.

Democracy is when a foreign power sees themselves as having the right to be very much involved in deciding who the leader of your country can be. 🙃
Fox: “What do you think is next for the Venezuelan people?”

Trump: “We’re making that decision now. We can’t take a chance on letting somebody else run and just take over where he left off.

“We’ll be very much involved, and we want to bring liberty for the people.”

Yeah, the official story was that they were just helping him out after his resignation.

He and witnesses claim otherwise.
