Critical Role campaign 4 has me desperately wanting to do a game where the players meet at a political marriage to try to normalize relations between wo warring factions and all have connections to one side of the wedding party or another and each other through that.

Hard same! And frankly, I didn't need to be called out like this!
I hate that I work to relax and if I stop working because I need to relax, I can't relax until I start working again. Was I cursed by a wizard? Did my grandfather mortally offend the Fae?

It’s just interesting that business has dropped all pretense and is simply just a bunch of wealthy people wanting us to shovel our money down their gullets. Not even going to guild the cage, cause it costs them profits to pay people to make the cage bearable.

I watched cable for the first time in a while hanging out with my parents, and as a creative, the growing number of terrible A/I ads I saw is troubling...

Oh, I've got one for this too! #Ha-Nahn. When I started getting noticed in the TTRPG space I was worried a bit about it being compared to a project/world by a creator who has been since drummed out due to bad behavior in the space.

Real bad scene all around.

It bothered me a lot at first.
Any time you work on anything, you are going to hit those "UH OH" moments where your stomach drops as you see a similar project that makes yours feel derivative and uninteresting and doomed to fail.

That's normal! Regroup, adapt, persevere! Your perspective has value!
Reposting with alt text because I felt it too important no to share

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you.

Who's coming to save you?

But there isn't a link-suppressing algorithm here. You could post actual descriptions of the image here and link to a whole blog post with your extremely funny write up.

Someone using assistive technology, but then getting a story that still doesn't describe the image? That's misusing alt text. 💖

I'll accept that people are putting some incredible humor in alt text of images on here.

Except that's not what alt text is for, it is "descriptive text that conveys the meaning of an image in digital content."

I get it, it's a nice cheat because alt text allows 2000 characters here vs. 300.

Do you remember that meme awhile back of the guy asking someone on the street "you have to choose between universal healthcare and trans rights," and the guy said "both, I reject your premise."

That's the kind of thing all of us need to get comfortable with. Rejecting the premise.
Why decline all these chances to defend feminism? Because to participate would be accepting the premise that our rights and humanity are up for debate in the first place.

Once you’ve conceded that it’s reasonable to ask whether women’s equality was a mistake, you’ve already lost.

None of this is “good faith political debate,” and it’s not a coincidence that all these outlets are suddenly interested in the same “discussion” at the same time.

Treating women’s humanity like a thought exercise makes it that much easier to legislate away

I have been informed by my game master that the arrogant ice queen I'm playing in her massively homebrewed social ttrpg we're playing is about to get her shit rocked in a social situation and has absolutely put her foot in shit without knowing and I am gloriously here for it.

I went and visited an old friend to drop off Christmas presents for him and his family today along with the friend's birthday present for the 28th.

I got called uncle Aaron by the kids and it was so damn sweet ya'll. My heart is full.

The end goal is eugenicist. RFK and his ilk know that this will make vaccines more expensive and time-consuming — and therefore marginalized children are most likely to fall through the cracks.

This is about killing kids who aren't born to privilege.

U.S. plans to stop recommending most childhood vaccines, defer to doctors
The plan, which is not finalized, suggests children get fewer shots and shifts to a model telling parents to consult doctors to make their own vaccine choices.

6 days till Christmas! "Lady Snowflake", watercolor & ink.

Snowflakes float gently downwards on the winds of a winter night. Silence creeps within us, a quiet made gray & peaceful by blankets of white. A world sleeps in frozen beauty all its own.

Behold Winter and find solace in her pale dreaming.

This is a great clip. Say no to the future they want.

But also actively build the future we want. Honestly, I think that's the part we're really struggling with. In the absence of our own vision to give us direction, we'll still get dragged along with whatever is happening.
"This promise of an AI future, is really just a collective anxiety that wealthy people have about how well they're gonna be able to control us in the future."

- @tressiemcphd.bsky.social with an absolute mic drop moment about AI bullshit.

Incredible words.

Random thought as I get back to business tonight.

I see a lot of men talk about wanting to be treated like kings. Notice how few very want to be "good kings."

They desire the privileges, not the responsibility and in my knowledge of history those kings often have less than savory ends.

Spent some time playing around with ideas for the pantheon this dragon belongs to and I can only describe it as kind of wholesomely weird lol.

I want to share this one again because I'm still proud of it. This is basically a continuation of a thing I was doing in art school where I was trying to world build this fantasy city of Esmeralda from the book Invisible Cities. This shot is a different part of the city and helps the vibe.

Post your most popular art from Twitter.

Honestly... I think it's this one! Largely because I think my disabled followers really liked the thought I put into the features of the street design even if it wasn't perfect.

We library folk do a good job talking about all the free services we offer, but I don’t see many of us talking about how libraries are one or the only places where you can use services without being advertised to.

No time to do a full #PoliticalLessonPost and deep dive here but in case you needed more evidence that the legacy news has been compromised listen to this clip.
