The actual finding here is that a huge percentage of the population believes things that are not true. Democrats objectively did not spend significant time on climate change or LGBTQ issues in the last election campaign.
Duh. Those of us on the ground last year actually speaking with middle class/working class voters and who heard from these voters every single day the same - “Trump is an asshole, but Democrats are out of touch” - could’ve saved my new political party a lot of time & money producing this “report.”👇

In my old town the GOP had run basically without serious challenge for decades. A bunch of us "millennials" joined the local Dem party and basically asked to help.

We were running it in a year. Within 4 years we had a majority of town seats flipped Dem. A FAR more progressive Dem than old party
“Rather than taking over the Democratic Party the same way the right took over the Republican Party, we should take the easier route and just start up a new party ourselves!”

I’m about to fill my pockets with stones and walk into the sea.

In Magic this is basically why Gruul and Selesnya don't get along. Selesnya is all about how serene nature is when they basically just create perfectly manicured parks!

Gruul is all like, "You think a dear won't eat a bird? Have you ever been in nature?"
You can always tell when folks who didn't grow up in nature are getting into a mystical nature kick because they talk about forests like they're these serene, perfect, peaceful places. No friend, nature is scary and tense as fuck and you're looking at a place where things live and die BY THE MINUTE.

At the moment that's the beginning and the end of it. Right now my empathy can't really let me do much besides acknowledge that reality.

I have thoughts about today and maybe I'll share them at a later. I need time to collect them and analyze the state of play.

All I know is that there are people I know IRL and on here who suffer and die if the shutdown continued and who will suffer and die if they lose their health insurance.

The answer Sen, Shaheen is that since America elected the Black man to be president, the official position of the Republican Party is “not to work together with Democrats to address the problems that are facing this country.”
Shaheen: "When I talk to my constituents in New Hampshire, you know what they say to me? They say, 'Why can't you all just work together to address the problems that are facing this country?'"

Cant have the country think Democrats are ascendant and Republicans are in trouble! So news medias gonna work overtime to help bolster them, just like they always do
After a week in which Dems exceeded expectations in elections, Trump's popularity continues to tank, the GOP largely abandoned the task of governing (just as Thanksgiving travel approaches), I'm a bit surprised to see many more stories highlighting weakness in the Dem than in the GOP coalition.
This NYT framing is ludicrously overstated. Sure, there are primaries. But if anything, the results showed a lot of Dems that there's a way to unify the factions around anti-Trump and affordability politics (as I try to argue in the piece/thread below).

There's an alternate history where I went to college for psychology specifically to study things like the flipping educational gender gap and in that reality these men are making me rage at a level hard to describe considering how bad it's happening in this reality where I didn't do that!
You cannot separate the current nightmare we now inhabit from the collapse/crisis in how rich, powerful middle-aged men perceive masculinity, especially their own insecurities.
I’m sorry, but a goofy looking guy who grew up a privileged son of a pediatrician and has a phd in social theory from the university of Goethe and started in tech by investing an inheritance left to him by his grandfather talking about being a “dude” is very, very funny to me.

I want to make clear that I don't think this is necessarily a *good* thing. These #PoliticalLessonPosts where I try to point out elected psychology and incentives aren't about right or wrong. It's about looking at the reality in front of us.
We see more fight out of these people when they see proof we want them to fight. And the proof to them is election wins.

That's it. It's not protests (as much as that helps) it's election wins and constant pressure. Cause congress is constantly being pressured by the hard right. Don't believe me?
November 9, 2025 at 5:48 PM
Want Dems that fight and win? Ones that look at the state of play says "this is unacceptable" means it and does something about it?

It's possible. We're seeing it in the aftermath of elections this week. So for today's #PoliticalLessonPost let's talk about it.

Let's start with Mamdani

In #Ha-Nahn remnants are the ghosts of its war torn past. Living weapons animated by malice or wicked sorcery they crave the violence they committed when wielded by the living and have constituted a horrid facsimile of a human body to wield themselves!

Reminds me of a thing I've said before. In Magic: the Gathering every color in the game has an in color reason for supporting Trans rights.

you know, i would put substantial money down that black people have contributed a disproportionate amount, in fact, to the development and wealth of this country.

and i'd even take that bet if i was able to count only *voluntary* work and not the labor of enslaved people.
“woke” is when you acknowledge that black people have contributed to the united states
Two panels commemorating the contribution of Black American soldiers towards the liberation of the Netherlands in World War Two have been quietly removed from a cemetery in Limburg. It follows a complaint by right-wing think tank The Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission.

Mile by mile they come.
Past the ruins and up to the walls, like a ruinous tide they come. To cut the villages down.

Led by Mwindaji they come.
Screaming bronze swords in living form. No lights and no sound, don’t want to be found

To keep from being cut down”

Sarah McBride should have the same kind of security detail House leadership has.

J0seph Phi1lip Danie1 belongs in a cage.

That the U.S. Capitol police don't have a TAS on his ass every time he's within 10 blocks of the campus is a disagrace.
someone went up to sarah mcbride in front of the u.s. congress, hurled her deadname at her loudly and called her a pedophile repeatedly, posted video of the exchange to x, and it is now going wildly viral

i will not share the video

but if you’re not speaking up about this, you’re hurting yourself

And honestly if it wasn't for this factor Dem bargaining positions would be hilariously shambolic positions of self-owning but with it? They get to look moderate and reasonable and underscoring the Khorne and Nurgle mentality driving the GOP to destruction.
I see everyone getting incredibly mad about this but… this is basically what the Dems have been asking for the entire time

it’s a bad deal for the Dems! it’s super easy to say yes to! and we are over a month into a shutdown anyway because the response has been “you get nothing, good day sir”
SCHUMER is on the floor now making this offer to end the shutdown:

Clean CR
Bipartisan "minibus" of approps bills
1-year ACA funding extension
Bipartisan cmte to negotiate on health care

"This is a reasonable offer that reopens the government, deals with health care affordability."
