#PoliticalLessonPosts
So this bit from the office of Governor Pritzker is right in line with what I've talked about in the last 2 #PoliticalLessonPosts about authoritarians and narrative and shows us that there are people who see what's happening and will call it out.

This is in the context of something else entirely but it's also an observation my mom taught me and something I'll pass on as part of our #PoliticalLessonPosts here.

Truth without context can be as dangerous as a lie.
Anything that removes information from context has ruined the utility of that information altogether.

It's like how when you hear about a news story, you have to know whether it's from Teen Vogue or NYT. (All shade to the latter, so I'm clear.)

I was once asked why I do these #PoliticalLessonPosts and a part of it is one of my friends pointing out to me how rare it is to have a parent actually give those lessons explicitly.

People were usually shocked when I could talk with some knowledge at 18. My hope is these help others with that.
Alright, #PoliticalLessonPost time. Let's talk about the GOP attempt to eradicate porn, why it's a problem, and why even if you're uncomfortable with porn (and I argue you shouldn't be) advocating against this for the ppl involved is important if we want to preserve folks rights.
Well, here we go. The GOP has just introduced a bill to effectively outlaw all pornography.

The bill dismantles the Supreme Court's Miller Test for obscenity, removing provisions that the content be patently offensive to community standards.

I try to confine these sorts of overt political posts to our #PoliticalLessonPosts on Sunday now but I'll *also* add that this is coinciding with the GOP's failure to get their horrible legislation out of committee that would've gutted Medicaid.
many of the same journalists who spent 2024 soft-pedaling the horrors of Trumpism now want you to believe that Joe Biden's age was the decisive reason for Kamala Harris's loss

I want to make clear that I don't think this is necessarily a *good* thing. These #PoliticalLessonPosts where I try to point out elected psychology and incentives aren't about right or wrong. It's about looking at the reality in front of us.
We see more fight out of these people when they see proof we want them to fight. And the proof to them is election wins.

That's it. It's not protests (as much as that helps) it's election wins and constant pressure. Cause congress is constantly being pressured by the hard right. Don't believe me?

We've had a decent little crop of new folks so let me introduce myself.

Hello, I'm Aaron and I'm a fantasy illustrator focused on non-Eurocentric stories and increasingly lately it seems, very basic political analysis/education for my fellow US folks through my #PoliticalLessonPosts.
It's #Portfolioday once again! Hey folks. I'm Aaron, a fantasy illustrator focusing on non-Eurocentric stories and characters as well as maps! #drawingwhileblack #blackartists
