this is why the black panther party was demonized and called terrorists by the govt. they were feeding ppl, holding clinics for healthcare, providing ambulance services, security, transportation. they had the govt shook.
We can't unite or unionize on anything if we are not in community with one another. That is why community is where the revolution starts. Once community is strong enough to depend on one another (& subsequently rely less on the government) we will be strong enough to fight back.

always grateful when somebody can put into words the inchoate thoughts I have swimming around my head
I am not defending Chuck Schumer, but I do think it is slightly more reasonable than we give credit to say that we cannot allow starving Americans, withholding their pay, and compromising their safety to become the way we do policy here. Saying “we were winning!” - no one wins when kids go hungry.

I'm never EVER going back to that store but all retail makes staff be that invasive.

I'm certain "Smile and offer Guest complimentary pap smear" is in the LUSH handbook, for example.

Because theres still the 1st Circuit court between the judge that made the ruling and the SC.

I know we're all pissed, but theres rules and protocols that have to be followed.

If the 1st circut agrees with the first judge, it wont even get to the SC.

I’m not Greek Orthodox but seriously, we could appropriate Epiphany & make it a big secular celebration to combat winter yucks. Post holiday sales! Leftover feasts! We can make this happen!
Being raised Greek Orthodox, I always feel like making a big deal of the Epiphany would also do a lot to mitigate post-Christmas blues.

Oh also - lawyers aren’t allowed to tell jurors this so i do:

“Jury nullification” is a fancy phrase that just means, “This jury decided not to convict and there’s nothing anyone can do about that.”

If we think a law is unjust or unjustly enforced, we can just not convict. We don’t need a reason.

This is not a game. The life trajectories of women around the world, including myself and my mother, are defined by the attempt to free ourselves of men obsessed with domination. The press platforming this shit for clicks literally destroys women's lives. We are called on to fight it accordingly

I love this so fucking hard! Run everybody…RUN!!
I've seen this go by a few times on TikTok now and I have to say, I love this idea. We need a way to convince people to keep running even if they don't win, maybe building the loss into it as a troll move is the secret.
