I think of the 10,000 hours stuff and how it hid a much better observation: "All work is eventually skilled"

The number 88 comes to mind: it is just a number! A birth year for a lot of people! 8 substituted for the letter B in words to be cutesy!

I tried to explain the significance to somebody recently and I felt very much in the situation you describe

that’s a very optimistic take. Or Calvinist, perhaps. I think you’re on to something but confess the feeling of passively waiting for things to change is quite frustrating (and also inevitable, since I’m but one ordinary human)

For instance:
Idea: what if legislators voted via confidential secret ballot?

We could reveal how they voted during their election season, like a report card, but could this sidestep the caucus / whipping votes / party line allegiances in the way of Actual Substantive Democracy?

Do you think it’s possible to break such a cycle? Are there changes that could stop the cycle of “the other side did it so now I have to”? (tone: still genuine, not rhetorical)

I can try to dig around to find the head/neck exercises they gave me if you’re interested. I vaguely remember something like staring at one point on a wall and slowly moving head but keeping eyes positioned on spot? *disclaimer: not medical advice* 😜

Sorry to hear about your pain, friend. I don’t know what access to medical care you have, but the worst times I’ve had vertigo the only way out was physical therapy from ppl with training in how to deal with vertigo.

It seems more morally repugnant in my mind to vote blindly along party lines than to vote independently after reasonable investigation.

As I typed this I realized we don’t live in the idealized world shown in Mr. Smith goes to Washington. But don’t we want to work towards it?

If anything, it’ll increase store avoidance. Even I, an extreme extrovert, cannot handle being bombarded in this way when I’m trying to shop at a big box store. If I wanted recognized I’d be shopping small & local!

The store level managers are the Real Ones, they know. How Corporate doesn’t get their input on how to run shit is beyond me

I always forget how gorgeous Tunisian looks, really elevates crochet. But the name always makes me think it’s going to be hard before I remember how to do it (it’s not hard!)

We need a movie that depicts a man obsessed with a woman in her office job who ignores her in her made over look
