I try to read all the Booker winners, so I am in the middle of this year's (Flesh) right now. It's decently well-written, but if it is the last word on masculinity (total lack of interiority, driven solely by sexual impulses that cannot be explained or controlled) then masculinity is in real trouble

A President cannot refer the DoJ to prosecute specific individuals. As it is an abuse of power, I would suggest anyone who is targeted by these to file lawsuits against Trump, the person as he is not immune outside his position.

I was v tired of doing One Bad Man stories & wanted to shout from the rooftops that every He's Just One Bad Man is NOT a one-off--each 1 is propped up by multiple interlocking systems of enabling, protection & even celebration. Yep. Some go into journalism to have access to power, to be power's handmaiden & PR. Others go into journalism to question & illuminate the operation of power & how some norms/systems hurt the powerless. Wolff just 1 of many examples showing--again--the former is very common& usu far more lucrative.
