Overall, despite clashing at times between the spectacle and the mixture of Wright’s directing style with social commentary, The Running Man is a fun yet mixed update to the original.

That said, the spectacle via some nice action set-pieces are a lot of fun and the way Wright approached the social commentary gave me strong Verhoenen vibes.
Glen Powell also serves as a solid lead w/Michael Cera and Colman Domingo being MVP. 2/3

#therunningman is a fun, but mixed bag. While the book’s social commentary is upfront and very present, when mixed with Edgar Wright’s directing style, it does threaten to clash with the spectacle. 1/3

As for performances, Elle Fanning shines both as hero and villain. However, the standout manages to be Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, who conves a realm of emotions over his make-up.

Badlands is a fun and relentless continuation of the franchise with some kills and heart along the way. 2/2

#PredatorBadlands is a relentless chase from beginning to end. Filled with insane action and visuals, the film manages to be an amazing exploration of the Predator lore, while also being surprisingly funny and heartfelt. 1/2

#Frankenstein is beautiful, yet haunting and emotional look at the symmetry between fathers, sons, and the legacy they leave behind. Oscar Isaac leads the cast with a commanding performance, but it’s Jacob Elordi’s work as The Creature that serves as the standout. Definitely see this ASAP!

#BlackPhone2 is a solid, yet tense follow-up w/Derrickson and Cargill taking some major risks. Mason Thames and Madeline McGraw continue to serve as great leads w/Kevin Bacon displaying some Freddy Krueger in his performance. Overall, a solid follow-up with some fun surprises.

#roofman is a hilarious, but yet surprisingly melancholic experience. One that is executed with a slight of hand by director Derek Cianfrance. Additionally, Channing Tatum and Kristen Dunst lead the cast with good chemistry and performances. Overall, a solid start to award season.

SO…..I have finally seen Wicked.

Overall, it’s a dazzling and vibrant time from beginning to end, complete w/spectular performances from the cast led by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

Still mixed on the whole Part 1/Part 2 debacle, but either way, I’m in. Can’t wait to see it again!
