One of the most important works of literature in my life. This play opened my eyes to what was possible in drama, in comedy, in philosophy, in performance, in conversation with the past. My first play was an almost direct homage and I’ve been chasing it ever since. RIP to a true genius.

I’ll start:

Weekends off
Paid vacations
Work breaks
Sick leave
Paid holidays
No child labor
Safer working conditions
Health care and retirement benefits

David Davis said there wouldn't be a single downside to Brexit.

Yorkshire Bylines recorded >2,000 of them from 2021-4.
The Davis Downside Dossier
David Davis famously said there would be no downsides to Brexit only considerable upsides - so we started recording them.

Glorious, cathartic, taking no shit at all, Stewart Lee.

Brexit: “like someone stepping round a massive pile of dogshit on the living room carpet. Every day. For nine years.”

If only all our media could be as ruthlessly challenging as this.

Rachel Reeves says on Laura Kuenssberg that she's asking working people to pay a little bit more.

This was all under the cover of a made up "black hole" whilst refusing to tax the super rich.

This Labour Government showing again exactly who they are and who they serve.

This is an excellent, level-headed, informative piece. I'd kill for a government which could discuss the issue with the same sense of objectivity and calm.

Expecting Republicans to be anything but dishonest, hypocritical, malevolent cheats in political warfare is like inviting a heroin addict to dinner & being shocked when you discover he’s stolen your wallet, raided your medicine cabinet, & vomited in a closet.

Hang on, a pause is by definition temporary. Permanent is the opposite of temporary. “Permanent pause” is an oxymoron, a contradiction. If you want to be president of the US, don’t you think you should learn English, @realDonaldTrump ?

Terrorism or Vengeance?

When the US pulled out of Afghanistan many Afghans who worked alongside them were offered TPS to keep them safe from execution by the Taliban.

But in July the Trump administration ended Afghan TPS, putting 11K Afghan refugees in the US at risk of deportation and death.

The UK, where the day after a decision to take half a million children out of poverty, the media & political world has been full of sneering at those same children & their families, labelling them as ‘Benefits Street’, while the same people are moaning about a tax on £2m mansions. Shameful stuff.

When you hear what Rachel Reeves has in store in the Budget, remember that there were ALWAYS other choices.

Labour have deliberately and consciously chosen to ignore the fact that Brexit is draining up to £90 billion a year from the UK economy.

That's a gap no amount of taxation can fill.
